Selina's smile cracked slightly into a small laugh as she listened. Of course he'd been doing worthy things, this was Bruce Wayne after all - what had she expected him to say? During her time in the emerites she'd made a point of avoiding western newspapers when she could, but everyone once so often she'd catch his name, or a photo and almost flinch. It was silly really, but the memories had seemed so fresh in her mind. She felt ridiculous in herself, ridiculous when she looked at him. The distance had done her the world of good.
Then suddenly it had come like a tug in the night, a pull in her gut. She had to return to Gotham. It was almost as if the city was crying out for her. But perhaps it was Selina who had been craving it - she didn't know or care, she was just happy to be home - for now at least. She found herself looking over his face carefully as he spoke, the twitch of his lips, the easy smile. Selina drank him in. She'd forgotten just how handsome he was. Like a matinee idol from years gone by in some respects. Otherworldly.
"Dance with me?"
His words hung in the air as she took a step towards him. A step back into her life as Selina Kyle, she held out a well manicured hand for him to grasp.
