It took effort not to pull her even closer than she had already moved herself, but luckily, Bruce was skilled enough to resist the temptation. He had learned long ago that the tighter you held Selina, the quicker she pulled away, and he was enjoying the feel of her in his arms too much to let her go just yet. She seemed to like where she was just as much, though, which warmed him. The thought that she had really missed him, had maybe even come back for him, was both exciting and frightening.
"I'll trying anything once - twice, if I like it," he matched her laughter, winking as well. "It's pretty dangerous though, and you know how accident prone I am."
Bruce could no longer deny his his attraction to Selina, and any deeper emotions that might have gone along with that baser response had been tucked away somewhere secret and quiet inside him where he wouldn't have to look too closely at them and be distracted. Because if he ever truly earned her love as Bruce Wayne and she saw his scars - the literal once, not metaphoric - she'd know instantly his secret. Her own signature was writ large upon his chest. And as Batman....
He ran his thumb along her jaw, his smile fading. "I missed you," he murmured seriously before releasing her again, kissing the siding of her head with more than affection, before continuing the dance in silence.
What it came down to was trust. As much as he... cared for her, Bruce was never sure that he could trust her. But then, he didn't trust anyone. He wanted to trust her, but every time they came close to some sort of understanding between them, something happened and one of them would back off. He considered just telling her the truth - about Bruce, and Batman; it would certainly simplify so many things between them. But it was information that could so easily be used against him and Selina didn't always work on his side of the law.
