Selina's breath quickened for a second has his lips grazed the side of her head. He was warm and the touch of them filled her with a sort of remorse. She cared for him, her feelings were undeniable now. She was filled with a longing that made her physically ache. Wrapped in the arms of a man who could give her everything - yet she craved the touch of a man who stood against everything she did, everything she had ever known. Selina laid her head on Bruce's chest as the song began to reach it's end. He might take this as sentiment, an unspoken acceptance and response to his words. He had missed her after all. But really she was hiding from his gaze.
How could she enjoy this? The feel of his arms when all she wanted was the chase, the excitement. The rough touch and voice of a man who she had hated for so long. The man she'd seen leaping from rooftops and who had inspired her to dress as she did - dark like the night that she loved so much. The Bat who has foiled her time and time again, his breath hot on her face as he held her - saved her sometimes, from herself.
Bruce was too good, too kind. But the appeal of someone who actually wanted her was too strong. Selina sighed gently against his suit as the sweet song came to an end. Her head pulled away from his jacket and she looked up.
"I know. I missed you too."
She spoke quietly, honestly - her hand shifted from his shoulder in one fluid motion, running down his jacket sleeve. Couples were beginning to swap and leave the dance floor and she moved away from him a little, from the moment that had been.
"And you didn't tread on my toes once."
Her smile was soft, not the grin he may have been used too. Something far more gentle and sincere. Selina nodded slightly, a silent thank you. Six months away had done nothing to clear this mess up and silently she cursed herself.
