The small lamp in the corner was beautiful and lit up the room perfectly, the reds and greens in the glass glowing merrily, Selina's eyes rested on it for a moment. She couldn't help but admire objects sometimes. She owned one herself, it looked like a blue willow tree and sat next to her bed. It had been bought though, and she cherished it all the more because of that. The room was old and smelt like money, and Selina found herself wishing for such luxury as Bruce moved her over to the loveseat - her eyes trailing over the rich green velvet curtains and mahogany desk. He was playing the perfect gentleman and she smiled softly, taking a seat besides him. She nodded at his words, let them talk outside, there was nothing to say that hadn't already been sad after all.
As he held her hand again, she felt herself relax slightly, her shoulders becoming more comfortable, her legs crossed.
"It was good for me." she spoke earnestly, chewing on her lip a little and nodding.
"The children that live on the streets, the human trafficking out there is just -" Selina considered her words for a moment thinking back to those crowded markets and lost faces.
"-It was certainly challenging. But rewarding, I feel like we did a good job."
So this was what honestly felt like. It was all true, all of it. The humanitarian work, the endless days looking for children, trying to get them into care. Of course that had been her cover but it had been a worthwhile one. Her days may have been spent caring, but her nights were spent in a rather less charitable fashion. Luckily for her the majority of criminal high cash transfers in the middle east were done via diamond and gold exchanges. Jewellery was a form of currency out there. Her ideal environment really.
"It was really worthwhile" she smiled, her fingers drumming around his. Selina leaned in slightly, only slightly, towards Bruce. It was natural really, her body craved closeness again, the feel of his hand was still a ghost on her waist and she let out a soft sigh, her eyes dipping for a moment.
