Powers/Abilities: The White Queen is a Psi of the highest order. She can read minds and project her thoughts into the minds of others. She is a mutant with various telepathic abilities that include:
● Astral Projection: ability to Astral Travel and communicate with others astrally through her own will, or through contact with the thoughts and memories of others. ● Mental Amnesia: ability to cause loss of particular memories, and amnesia in another person or even in a group of people. ● Mental Sedating: can telepathically "sedate" her victims so that, if already rendered unconscious, they remain so for as long as she continues to "sedate" them. ● Mind Control: ability to control the minds of others upon mere concentration. ● Mind Cloak: ability to rearrange the “mental engrams” of mutants so their distinctive mutant though patterns cannot be detected by Cerebro-type devises or by other telepaths. ● Mind Link: ability to develop a mental link with any person which remains as a connection to that individual. ● Psionic Spears: can project psionic force bolts which have no physical effects but which can affect a victim's mind so as to cause the victim pain or unconsciousness and can even kill an adversary. ● Telepathic Camouflage: ability to mask herself, and other peoples' presence from those around her. Can telepathically disguise herself, making her appearance to those around her quite different (changing the appearance of clothing, as well as more involved disguising). ● Telepathic "Illusion": ability to create realistic telepathic illusions and cause people to experience events which are not actually occurring extends from her ability to alter the memories of those around her. Her victims "experiences" are nothing more than false memories that have been implanted.
Organic Diamond Form: Emma Frost also possesses a secondary mutation, the ability to transform herself into a flexible, translucent diamond-like substance while retaining mobility. In this form, her skin is as hard as real diamond. In this state, food and water are not needed for a undetermined amount of time. Her diamond form does not require a conscious hold and thus will remain until it is voluntarily triggered back.
Weaknesses: While in diamond form Emma has a flaw like most diamonds. Despite the relative invulnerability Emma gains while in this form, a hit to any one of three major points would cause her to shatter and for all purposes be dead. Hits received to the upper right shoulder at the base of the neck, her chest to the left of the heart and right between the eyes would be fatal. It is important to note while in this form she becomes cold-hearted and loses empathy for those around her. Also, Emma is unable to use her telepathy.
Should Emma choose to attack her opponent telepathically she mind can become overtaxed leaving her susceptible to physical attacks. History: Emma Frost was born into a wealthy old Boston mercantile family that arrived from England in the 1600s. The second of three daughters, Emma also had an older brother named Christian who had turned to substance abuse as an escape from the drudgery of his life. Unknown to their family or themselves, the three Frost sisters were mutants whose telepathic abilities matured upon reaching puberty.
When it came time for their father to choose a worthy heir to the family fortune, Christian was automatically dismissed due to his drug problem. Whilst the older sister Adrienne seemed the most obvious choice, the father chose Emma. Surprisingly, she refused, choosing to make her own way through life. Emma ultimately inherited a good deal of wealth, but most of her large fortune resulted from her professional success. She ascended rapidly to the upper echelon of the business world on the strength of her intelligence, drive, and personal charm, as well as the secret use of her mental powers.
Eventually, Emma became majority stockholder of a multibillion-dollar conglomerate principally involved in electronics and transportation - both the building of ships and aircraft, and their use for freight and passenger conveyance. Despite her relative youth, she was named chairwoman of the board and chief executive officer of the rechristened Frost International. At this point she had caught the eye of the Hellfire club, mainly Sebastian Shaw and was invited into their Inner Circle. She accepted and began to enjoy her new life of power and sexual liberation.
While with the Hellfire Club, Emma met a man named Charles Xavier who offered her a chance to do more with her abilities by joining his staff at his school for young mutants. Emma declined, thinking that Xavier's ideals and her own were quite different. To Emma, Charles wanted to help mutants keep their powers in control, while Emma thought it was better for mutants to be free to explore and push their powers to their optimum use. While she declined his offer, Emma decided that she did in fact want to teach, to inspire young minds (and mostly to get them to think like her.)
For a year and a half Emma ran a very small school for mutant children in Massachusetts. The teaching program was a lot less structured and more oriented in teaching children what they wanted to learn. The classes included a wide range of topics, from mutant history to conversation skills. Often the topics were controversial or taboo and Emma would reward students for their personal growth, even if it resulted in unethical practices. For once, Emma found pleasure in helping others and things were happy for her. However, her liberating, free thinking, self exploration program erupted in flames one day when a young student, trying to push himself to the brink with his powers, accidentally blew up half of the school. Nobody was seriously hurt, and in fact Emma found herself undergoing a secondary mutation when she turned into organic diamond, protecting herself from the explosion.
However, the controversy it brought with it all but destroyed the school. Parents pulled their children from the program when they thought it was unsafe. Then the rest followed suit when Emma's background in the sexually charged Hellfire Club was brought into question. The Hellfire Club, in turn, shunned Emma Frost from their ranks in order to stay out of the controversy.
Emma was able to dodge a bullet it seemed. Sebastian Shaw used his contacts to protect Emma from public humiliation, but broke all contact with her and declared he never wanted to see her again.
Emma, feeling betrayed, pursued Charles Xavier, hoping to secure a position at his school. As a teacher at Xavier's School, Emma has been forced to follow a more structured style, but often pushes for more liberating, controversial topics and issues in the classroom. She serves with the X-Men when the need arises, but is mostly at the school to teach. Mostly.
Writing Sample:
The journey from John F Kennedy International Airport to Latverian National Airport was relatively uneventful and spent in quiet contemplation. She was determined not to spend too much behavioral energy worry about Scott Summers or Charles Xavier. Her stress seemed to dissipate with the more distance she put between herself and the Xavier School. She brought a little work to do to keep her mind off of things, but Emma thought best to conserve her energy. She wanted to be keen and sharp for her meeting with Doom, which wasn't to say she was planning an onslaught against Victor, no far from it.
It would be a foolish thing, to be sure, to try and attack - such as it was - a king within his fortress walls. And Emma was genuinely curious about what it was that Victor wished to discuss. Such an alignment could be most advantageous to both her and Frost International.
The drive through Latveria was interesting if not totally surprising and not at all what Emma Frost expected.
Behind an expensive pair of Chanel sunglasses, she closed her eyes, and she opened her mind to the thoughts of those around her. First those of her escorts, rifling through their brains as easily as one would twirl a Rolodex. They were there for her protection, in case there was an attempt on her life. Something about ....insurgents - it was mostly still unclear to those around her.
Then she further extended her gift, to the citizens of Latveria. Morale was good. Higher than expected. Better off than before. Obviously there were terrified to speak out against their monarch, dissension was not tolerated and dissidents had a way of disappearing.
Once inside Doomstadt, Emma quickly determined that she could not sense Victor at all. Apparently he was near, but was, more than likely, using psionic blocks against her - not that, that surprised her.
Emma nodded to the valet as she waited for Doom to make his appearance.
