I don't quite see it. I've always enjoyed having longer hair. The idea that 'powerful woman' means 'short hair' has been played out.

I agree. I've always worn my hair long. Power has nothing to do with anything like that.

In the summer I sometimes get the urge to cut it all of and be done with it, but the thought always passes.

Well obviously it's because a woman should act more like a man if she wants to make it to the top, so it helps to look more masculine to be taken seriously.

Yes, but look too feminine and you're using your sex to work your way up. I've seen it enough times in the interns in my business.
