PROFILE: ALICE CULLEN
always been like a hummingbird.  Like the rest of her kind, Alice is inherently beautiful. She has perfect pale skin, large eyes, and delicate pixie-like features. When she has recently fed her eyes are a warm golden color, but as she grows thirstier they darken to black. She's the tiniest member of her family, standing at only 4'10 and is extremely thin and willowy in stature. She keeps her black hair short and fashionable. Alice is obsessed with fashion, and her clothing reflects it. As money is no object for the Cullen family, Alice always dresses in designer labels, and generally hates wearing the same thing twice. Her personal clothing choices are fun and flirty, reflecting her personality. PERSONALITY ALWAYS BEEN LIKE A HUMMINGBIRD / AND I CAN'T KEEP STILL LISTEN UP LOVER / LISTEN UP I NEVER WILL If the Cullen family were more traditional, Alice would fall firmly into the "baby" category of the family. While she's over a hundred years old, she still manages to maintain her status as the fun, sweet (and occasionally bratty) little sister. She's cheerful, optimistic, and marches to the beat of her own drum. Alice was born at the beginning of the 20th century, but is still one of the most modern of the Cullen family. She doesn't necessarily hold onto old fashioned ideals the way that the others do. She fully embraces the modern times and everything new and exciting that comes along with it. Alice is friendly and welcoming, with a sweet sense of humor. She is a die-hard Fashionista, who takes great pride not only in her own wardrobe, but also in the rest of her family's. They enjoy joking that she never lets them wear the same thing twice. She is bright and vivacious, with a healthy curiosity for the world around her. She's loyal and faithful, having been in love with Jasper for sixty years. Her family means everything to her, and she would go to great lengths to protect them from harm. While she has far more good qualities than bad, Alice can also be stubborn, nosy, and downright impudent. She's more than a little bossy and is prone to having fits and tantrums when she doesn't get her way. She is, however, quick to forgive and move on. HISTORY Alice's human life was not particularly nice or well-lived. Born in Mississippi in 1901, Alice was gifted with premonitions from the time she was very small. As a young child, Alice wasn't fully aware of what she was seeing in her visions, only that she seemed to be the only one who could see them. She was not often very vocal about her powers, as she wasn't sure what they meant. WINGS MOVE FASTER / THAN THE HUMAN EYE / AND IF YOU COULD SEE MY HEART WELL IF YOU COULD SEE MY HEART / WONDER I DON'T COME APART As she grew into adolescence, her abilities strengthened and Alice attempted warning others of misfortunes she saw in their future. They dismissed her, and when her predictions came true, they blamed her for cursing them. She began being referred to as a witch and a changeling by the people of her town. She tried to keep her head down and stay out of the way, but it became increasingly difficult for her. Particularly after she witnessed a horrifying vision of her mother being murdered by a stranger. Alice immediately warned her mother, who believed her and began taking extra safety precautions. However months later when nothing happened, Alice's mother became less vigilant about her safety and was eventually killed. Alice tried to explain that it was murder, but was silenced by her father who declared it an accident. Less than a year later, her father had remarried a young woman who strongly disliked Alice. Alice nursed a suspicion that her mother's murder and father's remarriage were tied together. A suspicion that was confirmed when she received a vision of her father sitting down with the man she'd watched murder her mother. In her vision the two men discussed plans for killing her. Alice tried to run away, but had nowhere to go. Her father insisted to the town that she had gone insane and Alice was shipped off to a mental institution in another city. It was while she was locked away in that asylum that Alice's short life changed even more drastically. She was given massive treatments of electroshock therapy that left her with a case of total amnesia. While her memories of her previous life were gone, Alice's cheerful and humorous personality began to shine through again. She was befriended by a vampire who worked at the asylum. He looked after Alice like a daughter and tried to shield her from the worst treatments. One afternoon, the vampire tracker James was passing through the town and caught the faintest scent of Alice's blood. Her blood called to him and spurned him on to pursuing her. She had a vision of him coming after her, and in order to save her the Vampire bit and turned her. While Alice transformed, he left to distract James, who killed him. Fortunately for Alice, by the time James found her, the vampire venom had fully turned her, and James decided to let her live. He wanted to see if she could survive alone. So he left her there. The pain from the venom was so intense, that it blacked out all of Alice's memories of her human life. However, when she woke as a vampire, her first experience was a vision of Jasper Whitlock and their life together with the Cullen family. Being able to see her future with the Cullens helped Alice to develop a conscience of her own that helped her stray away from feeding on humans. She did her best to practice their "vegetarian" lifestyle on her own, only slipping up a few times. It took nearly thirty years for her to find Jasper. During that time, she traveled around on her own, using her abilities to help her get by and stay out of trouble. She practiced her self-control and as it grew, she began to integrate more and more into human society again. In 1948 in a diner in Philadelphia, Alice and Jasper finally found each other. When Jasper walked through the door, Alice beamed at him and informed him that he'd kept her waiting a very long time. Jasper, realizing that he'd just met someone special, apologized and joined her. The two fell in love quickly, and turned up on the Cullen family's doorstep two years later in 1950. Alice and Jasper married each other a few years after joining the Cullens. As Jasper was still adjusting to not feeding on humans, Alice was a constant source of love and support for him. The family grew impossibly close, relying on one another and moving from town to town as needed. In 2004 the Cullens moved to the tiny town of Forks, Washington. While Carlisle accepted a position at the local hospital, Alice and Jasper, along with their new siblings, Edward, Rosalie, and Emmett all enrolled in the local high school. The following year another new student arrived. Isabella Swan, the daughter of the police chief. Upon Bella's arrival in Forks, Alice was greeted with a vision that the two of them would become close friends. She was intrigued by Bella, and anxious to meet her but was forbidden to do so by Edward, who was fighting his own attraction to Bella. However, as Bella and Edward became closer, Alice managed to worm her way in. The first time she met Bella at the Cullen home, she greeted her warmly, as if they were already best friends. Later on when the Cullens invite Bella to watch them play baseball, the group is discovered by a small group of nomadic vampires. James, Victoria, and Laurent. Though the Cullens attempted to diffuse the situation, James (the same vampire who had stalked Alice) caught Bella's scent and became fixated on her. Edward warned his family that James would not give up tracking Bella until he had killed her. While the rest of the family stayed behind in Forks to distract the nomadic vampires, Alice and Jasper take Bella to Phoenix to hide. While staying at a hotel there, Alice receives a vision of a Ballet studio and Bella's mother, Renee. Believing that James intends to go after her mother to get to her, Bella slipped away from Alice and Jasper and made her way alone to the ballet studio. There she met James, who attacked and bit her. The Cullens, however, arrived in time to kill him and save Bella from the vampire venom. The following year was filled with a variety of emotions. For a time, Edward and Bella were happy together. Which made Alice happy. She embraced Bella like a sister and spent much of her time at Bella's house and took great delight in planning an elaborate 18th birthday party for Bella. However the evening was spoiled when Bella cut herself and was nearly attacked by Jasper. It was after that incident that Edward made the decision that it was just too dangerous for Bella to be around them. Since Bella wouldn't let things end willingly, the Cullens packed up and left the town. Though it was difficult for her, Alice did as Edward asked and severed all contact with Bella. While away from Forks, Alice filled her days investigating her human life, of which she still remembered nothing. But Alice refused to stay away from Forks any longer after experiencing a vision of Bella throwing herself off a cliff. She rushed back to their old home and found Bella alive and well. Afterward she discovered that the Quileute wolves block her visions, so she had not been able to see Jacob Black pull Bella out of the water. She and Bella quickly fell back into their old friendship, and Bella asked Alice to stay and fill her in on everything the Cullens had been doing. But their plans were cut short when Rosalie informed Edward of Bella's "suicide." Thinking Bella was dead, Edward made the decision to go to Italy and provoke the Volturi into killing him as well. Seeing all this in a vision, Alice grabbed Bella and the two of them raced off to Italy together. They managed to get to Edward in time, and the three of them faced the Volturi together. It was Alice's promise that Bella would become a vampire that allowed them to leave the city safely. With Edward and Bella back together again, the Cullen family returned to Forks. Things were peaceful for a few months until another crisis hit. Alice had a vision of Victoria coming back for revenge. As Edward had killed her mate, James. She intended to kill his; Bella. Victoria managed to evade Alice's visions by not making and decisions directly. However, the Cullens eventually learned that she was creating an army of newborn vampires. The Cullens and the Quileute werewolves set aside their differences and join forces to defeat Victoria and the newborns. |  ALiCE TEAM ALICE.
