Appearance

APPEARANCE:
Standing only 5’4 Gwen considers herself a little on the short side. She’s never liked to feel at a disadvantage, however, and for this reason usually wears at least two inch heels, making her a little closer to average height. She has a small, oval face, light blue eyes and delicate features with long golden tresses that frame her face. She usually curls her hair, liking the feel of the bouncing curls as she moves. Having inherited her mother's bone structure as well as looks, Gwendolyn has therefore a lean and slender frame helping to carry of a regal appearance. Like her siblings, Gwendolyn as the small, pert Montgomery nose, upturned a little at the tip. With the exception of this feature Gwendolyn looks almost identical to her mother. Gwen and Isabelle, Gwen's fraternal twin sister, look a lot alike, though Isabelle's face is a bit rounder with freckles across her nose and of average weight. Gwen doesn't really like being compared to her sister, who doesn't hold much stock in fashion and never bothers with make-up.

Gwendolyn is incredibly concerned with her weight, and the way she looks, and for this reason weighs around 100lbs. Although fairly thin looking, keeping her weight has been quite of a struggle for Gwen. Not a very athletic girl, Gwendolyn has to be careful of what she eats in order to keep her appearance. She hates to run, but does spend a lot of time in yoga an spinning classes, usually relying on controlling her food intake in order to maintain her weight. It is a general struggle, but one which countless women have managed throughout time.

Gwen walks tall, with an air of confidence about her that reflects in her movements and tone. It certainly helps that Gwen knows she's attractive and it shows. A lover of clothing and all things fashionable, Gwendolyn has a keen sense for fashion and impeccable style. With an eye for a just the right colour combinations and excellent taste, Gwendolyn generally looks quite fashionable. Having such expensive tastes has never really been easy for a middle class girl, but over the years she's managed to acquire just enough of the finer, more elegant pieces which when paired with her general wardrobe, create the perfect ensemble.
PB: Amber Heard

Personality ETC

LIKES: men, gossip, fashion, girls, films, television, shoes, flirting, magazines, pink, green, Draco, sugar quills, her friends, photography, martinis, vodka, purple, jewellery
DISLIKES: work, studying, stupid people, know-it-alls, fat people, people without style, dirt, butter, cigarettes, beer, brown, creepy-crawlies

STRENGTHS: Gwen loves flirting, shopping and clothes and excels at all three. Whether it’s knowledge about the latest fashion line, the best designs or just sending hours going out, Gwen’s brilliant at it. She’s also quite a bit of a flirt, likes to have a god time with her mates. It’s in her desire to drive forward that brings out Gwendolyn’s more Slytherin traits, as she is more than happy to do whatever it may take to get what she feels she deserves in life. Not wanting to rely on men to get ahead, Gwen’s certain she will get the money and power she desires through her own means. Gwen’s best subject as school was Drama, loving to act, play parts and be anyone in the world, and she also excelled in Arts and Design and Home Economics, especially when the topics centered around fashion.
WEAKNESSES:
As a fairly selfish person, Gwendolyn's behaviour often mimics her baser needs and desires, as she tends not to think things through before acting. She has no desire to rely on others for what she needs or wants and as such often places her own needs in front of others'. She doesn't really mean to hurt her friends, but she scarcely feels sorry for anything that she does, mostly because she's sure that she, like everyone else in the world, is really only looking out for themselves. Despite the selfishness and vanity that Gwendolyn shows in her general behaviour, she is actually a fairly insecure person. Certain that she’s not as perfect as she thinks she should be, Gwen can be quite paranoid. Gwen’s fairly rubbish at anything that requires lost of memorization or physical labour. She doesn’t really like getting her hands dirty, or really having to sit there and read things over and over.

DETAILED PERSONALITY:
Gwendolyn is often seen by other people as a little too open, too flirty. Gwendolyn just thinks that people are quite jealous of the freedom she finds in her situation and the lack of restrictions she has upon her life. Never one to be crude in public, Gwendolyn is considerably more subtle, and will often flirt with boys of most houses, the light tones almost appearing second nature to her. Whilst Gwen is attracted to women, she will not openly flirt with them, as she fears the stigma this could bring. Instead, she would rather speak and flirt with the boys of Slytherin, which often gets her glares from the other girls. For this reason, Gwendolyn has always thought that women can just be a little jealous of the fact that she can interact with men far more than other people. She can't help it though, Gwendolyn adores the surge of power she gets from play with the boys, even if it is not sexual in nature.

Growing up in a relatively normal family home, Gwendolyn had a relatively care-free childhood in a busy home with four siblings. With two hard-working and successful parents, working countless hours in order to provide what her children needed, to give them independence; Gwendolyn had learned from a very young age what it was to make a name for oneself. Not born to money but rather to an entrepreneurial and hard-working family, Gwen appreciates her parents work and their time. Although the family is not wealthy, they are comfortable and it has always been impressed upon Gwen just where hard work can lead. It is because of this that Gwen has a strong desire to succeed, make something of herself and only rely upon herself to get further in life. Gwendolyn is very independent. She doesn't like to rely on anyone for anything as she feels that she is more than capable to handle things on her own. As such, she thinks everything's a gender struggle and fails to understand what's it like to have normal relationships and friendships

As a fairly selfish person, Gwendolyn's behaviour often mimics her baser needs and desires, as she tends not to think things through before acting. Having had few people in her life who truly spent time with her or cared for her, Gwendolyn has grown up with the idea that the only manner in which she can get what she needs from life is to get it for herself. She has no desire to rely on others for what she needs or wants and as such often places her own needs in front of others. She doesn't really mean to hurt her friends, but she scarcely feels sorry for anything that she does, mostly because she's sure that she, like everyone else in the world, is really only looking out for themselves. After all, who would care more about you thank yourself?

Isabelle and Gwendolyn may share a birth date, but the two girls could not be more distinct. Gwendolyn had always been the dreamer, the artistic one, to Isabelle's more straight-forward and logical ideals. Gwendolyn loves her sister dearly, but their relationship is very indicative of many of Gwendolyn's closer relationships. As real a she tries to be, she finds it hard to share her opinions and beliefs. She will happily talk about anything, especially fashion and the latest entertainment news, but on the deeper, emotional discussions Gwendolyn tends to be far more quiet and reserved.

History
Gwendolyn Moira and Isabelle Montgomery came into the world on the 23rd of October, 1990, a month early. The twins were an eagerly awaited and very welcome addition to the Montgomery household. Even five-year-old William, who was at first disappointed to no longer be an only child, accepted the wriggling little bundles. Helena Selwyn and Alastair Montgomery lived in a large detached house in rural Renfrewshire since their marriage in 1974, and the little girls were welcomed into a fairly stable, happy home.

For the first few years of their lives, Gwendolyn and Isabelle were raised by a combination of au pairs and nursery. With both Helena and Alastair having very busy careers and lives in Glasgow, Helena was home with the girls for a few weeks before returning to the city. This often meant that the girls would spend little time with their parents growing up. Gwendolyn showed at an early age to be a very sociable and chatty little girl, often babbling away even before she could speak properly. Sharing so much from a young age made Gwendolyn and Isabelle inseparable when they were younger, even developing a language of their own which they used to communicate. Together the girls often ran rings around their au pairs, often trading places with one another or trying to drive out those that they did not like. Although Izzie and William were to remain Gwen's closest friends, she had little issue finding people to keep herself amused, and was often at neighbours homes on playdates.

By the time Gwendolyn started school, at the age of four, the girls had a run of a dozen or so au pairs and were more than a handful. The structure of school seemed to have a bit of a calming affect on Gwendolyn. There were so many new things to see and do, so many new people to meet. The happy, eager little girl had a whole new playplace. Primary school was a short drive away, and the girls were bundled off with William as they were delivered to the local school ever morning by either their mother or father, before being picked up in the afternoon by their childminder. William was generally an attentive older brother, ever careful with his sisters, watching over them when needed and generally being there to comfort them when their parents were busy at work, or distracting them when they argued. As such, when William finally went to Hog's Hill, Gwendolyn was absolutely devastated. At nearly seven years of age, Gwen understood well why her brother was leaving her, but she certainly did not like it!

With her brother off at boarding school during the year, and the girls getting older, Gwendolyn and Isabelle were to rely more on the after school care. This meant they could spend time with other boys and girls their age, until their parents picked them up in the evening. Gwendolyn loved the programme, a stark contrast to the regiment and book-work of school. Both at school and outside, Gwendolyn was starting to pick up an interest in arts and music. Having loved painting since very little, her skills developed as she did, and Gwen often spent her time drawing, doodling and playing around in the music room. Attending weekly dance lessons as well as after school activities, Gwen thrived on more active and hands-on learning.

There was so much going on Gwendolyn's formative years that the girls spent very little time in their home. In truth, Gwen preferred the company of her friends over the quiet at home. Helena and Alastair were to spend rare weeks together in the house, often off on business trips, that it was quite a treat when the everyone was at home. Even so, Gwendolyn soon learned that her parents were not as happy with one another as she'd dreamed. Arguments regularly erupted in the house, and the girls would seek comfort in their own company. Thankfully things settled in the spring of 2001, when the girls were ten. Their mother was pregnant and there was so much to look forward to.

When Gwen’s younger brother was born toward the end of 2001, she and Isabelle were quite excited at the new arrival. Having just turned eleven, Gwen just felt excitement at the prospect of having a little boy to play with and treat like her own living, breathing dolly. As much as she loved her sister, she had a mind of her own, and Damien's birth opened new opportunities. It helped that their older brother was gone most of the year, having started at Hog's Hill four years before and so having a little boy around the house was to be a novelty. Gwendolyn didn't get to spend much time in the new baby's presence, however, as by the end of the following summer Gwen was to head off to Hog's Hill for her first year.

Gwendolyn’s first year at Hog's Hill signalled the beginning of a new stage in her life one which she had been very excited to start. With her sister joining her on the train, Gwen was beyond excited to be joining the likes of famous witches and wizards. William, by now a sixth year Slytherin, was to be there and Gwendolyn was very excited to spend more time with her older brother and do really well so she could be just like her mother. Gwendolyn’s strive to do anything necessary to attain all the best things in life, had easily landed her in Slytherin. Beaming at her older brother, who sat with his mates, Gwendolyn joined her new house, chattering excitedly among the new firsties. A very chatty, pleasant, oft-times hyper little girl, Gwen got along quite well with most of the girls in her year and that above her.

The relief and happiness lasted mere seconds as her sister, who was sorted mere seconds after her, was placed in Hufflepuff. It was a devastating blow to Gwen who had hoped to share a room with her twin, and a bit of a break in tradition for the Montgomery family. Gwen didn't let this stop her, however, as she intended to include her little twin in everything she did. Although Gwen did her very best to introduce her sister to her friends, she didn't seem to take to them as easily as Gwendolyn had. It was disappointing, though Gwen would still do her best to see her sister who seemed a bit more taken with school-work than the people around her.

Gwendolyn knew very well how important it was to make connections and friends, so within the first few days at Hog's Hill, Gwendolyn did her best to not only learn her classes but also get on with the other little boys and girls in her house. It would be one other little boy in her year that would make a lasting impression upon Gwen. The two clicked almost immediately and have been the best of friends ever since. Gwen soon knew that she was in the best house and which families and house to avoid. It was easy to see who the right people to interact with were and Gwen quickly attached herself to the older Pansy Parkinson. Pansy completely fascinated young Gwen who saw her as a girl in charge, someone who already had people her age and a few older fearing her. It would be as one of the members of this little gang that Gwen would make her closest friends. Though, like most Slytherins, Gwen could hardly completely trust the girls.

As one of Pansy's little group of girls, Gwen learned quickly whom she was to like, and whom to dislike. They were the 'popular girls' within the school, and within the year Gwendolyn knew she wanted nothing more than to be part of this group. As a boarding school student, the school being too far away for them to realistically commute from home, Gwen and her sibling spent most of the year at the institution. Gwendolyn didn't mind much, and came to quite enjoy the new surroundings and her new housemates. The first two years at Hog's Hill were fairly easy ones for Gwen as she attended her classes, put in minimal effort and spent a majority of her time concentrating on friendships. Her interest in her classes spiked a little, though Gwen still very much preferred talking and gossiping with her friends than doing her homework. Between terms, Gwendolyn and her siblings would usually travel home together by train. Gwendolyn wasn't particularly happy to spend summers at home as there were few people around, and she often had beg her brother to take her into Paisley or Glasgow for entertainment. At home, when her parents were around, the tension was palpable as their respective careers often meant stressful days and evenings away from the home. For the children this meant entertaining each other, or occasionally relying on Damien's au pairs for anything.

In short time, Gwen found interest in some of her classes, namely Drama and Art and Design, enjoying the links to fashion and clothing. A lover of art, Gwendolyn had always enjoyed drawing, clothing and soon developed in interest in photography. Although she had quite an artistic eye and excelled in her classes, Gwendolyn's art wasn't particularly noteworthy. For the most part she draws for fun, not because it's very good. Whilst she would often do well in these classes, most of the rest of her courses suffered. It was not that she wasn't bright, although she's hardly a genius, Gwen just couldn't be bothered to study for things that did not interest her.

Socially, Gwendolyn found her place among the girls in her year and house. She's attracted the occasional attention from the boys and found herself flirting considerably. With so many things to do in the castle, Gwendolyn loaded her schedule with social activities and clubs that she could join, where she could meet others in the school and make more friends. A big fan of sports or rather the players, Gwendolyn would often go out with the rest of her house to rot on the various teams as they battled other schools. It was following the first game of the season in S 3 that Gwendolyn came up with the brilliant idea of forming a cheerleading squad. Having always been a fan of American cinema and tv-shows, the idea seemed brilliant and the perfect importation to the school. It took a lot of convincing of her friends, and a lot of hard work and determination to follow up, get signatures, a sponsor and by the break, Gwendolyn had gotten approval for a squad.

The rest of her third year and the beginning of the fourth were spent on her pet project. There were videos to watch, films to review and the Internet to stalk for routine. In short, she spent every moment not in class trying to prepare for what she was certain would be her legacy. Although it wasn't easy to get her friends to follow suit, by the end of the school year she'd garnered a small group, practically begging some of them to help. Fourth year was to put her plan to the test at the start of the football season. The squad seemed to be doing well and Gwendolyn loved every moment of being in charge.

Having developed considerably over summer, Gwen would start to garner more attention from boys this year. Whilst she had been a pretty girl from a young age, things changed this year and it was not just her friends who seemed to be paying attention to her. Giving boys her attention and batting her eyes at them generally resulted in trinkets and presents; the more blokes she attracted, the quicker she learned that she loved the power she could wield. That's not to say that Gwendolyn was easy, far from it, she was actually fairly difficult to pin down as the longer the chase was the more interested the boys would become, but she certainly enjoyed her end of the chase. It helped, of course, that she was quite attractive. Although Gwen rather enjoyed the eventual kisses and later sex, she knew that the best way to remain in control was to withhold favours until she saw fit.

It was throughout her fourth year that Gwendolyn also began to take closer notice to her close friends. Those legs from girls that until then had just been friends and sources of gossip suddenly became much more appealing than she'd ever though, and her dreams took a very different turn. This somehow culminated into a crush on an older, pretty blonde Hufflepuff. Feeling as she did about Hufflepuffs, Gwendolyn did her best to ignore the feelings, although she soon had to come to terms with her budding sexuality. Although the changes were foreign to her, as with everything in life, it was in her best friend whom she confided, not willing to trust anyone else with the truth. To her relief he seemed to be experiencing similar emotions and she relied greatly on his friendship over the coming months. That summer, just before her fifth year, Gwendolyn spent a few weeks in London visiting William as she'd started to do since he moved two years before. There, she would frequent bars with her brother and his friends, or by herself enjoying nights out. This summer, however, she found herself growing bolder as she flirted with women as well as men. One girl in particular caught Gwen's attention, and having had too much to drink, Gwendolyn ended up back in her flat only to emerge the following morning with a massive hangover and amazing memories.

The start of her fifth year meant more hard work for Gwendolyn. Standard Grades were at the end of the year, and this meant that she was to study even harder than before. Although Gwendolyn didn’t particularly have any goals in mind, her father’s counselling and his success in business did make her realise over the years that maybe it would be worth it. It wasn’t a complete transformation, Gwen still enjoyed her gossip and sitting around chatting with the girls, but there were noticeable changes, and Gwen did start to develop a sense of responsibility, finding herself considerably more discreet, and dare one say the more refined person she was taught to be. Even so, Gwendolyn spent a lot of her time with the squad, training with them and working out new routines with the girls as they grew closer. In it's second year, the girls were becoming more confident, and spent a lot of time practising to get thing right for the matches.

The final two years were both difficult and enjoyable for Gwendolyn. Academically she'd done well enough in her favourite subjects in order to continue studying them for Highers, thereby giving her a much reduced course load. This meant that she could spend more time on her extracurricular activities, the squad and help train the younger years. Now that she was older and more senior she was finding it easier to control the girls and get her ideas across. Nevertheless, Gwendolyn still spent a sufficient amount of time on her education. Having had her mind on an acceptance at RADA since she was very little, and her parents on her back about performing well in the courses that she was taking, Gwen made a point of studying. They were, after all, enjoyable classes, and hardly the sort of difficult subject matters that required hours of extra work, save the odd memorization of masterpieces or monologues.

Gwendolyn's final year at Hog's Hill went even better than that before. Cutting her schedule down even further to just Drama and Art and Design gave her further free time and plenty of time to concentrate on the important things in life. For once, Gwen was not just one of the girls, but the Queen of the school, and the years spent following Pansy had certainly paid off. Not only was she prefect, head of the cheerleading squad and one of the most popular girls at the school, the fact that few outside of her house seemed to like her was completely disregarded. Gwendolyn never really had any particular ambitions regarding her future career. She'd always loved acting, adored her drama classes, and despite the likeliness of it all had her heart set on pursuing a career in acting. With only a few months left before the end of term., Gwendolyn auditioned for the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts acting programme. The remainder of her year, Gwendolyn continued in her academic pursuits spending her time on her classes in order to help show her dedication and commitment to acting.

Finally the letter arrived, weeks after her exam results came, and Gwen could not have been happier. Her chance to hit it big was getting closer, and before long she was living in London attending her dream school. The three years of classes almost flew by as Gwendolyn honed her craft made friends and forged connections.

So in the summer of 2012, following her graduation from RADA, Gwendolyn moved to a small flat in London. Whilst in London, Gwen followed her newly found desire to join the stage going to small auditions in the hope of becoming a star! With shows to attend, people to meet, Gwen made friends quite quickly, often staying out late partying until dawn and ending up at some random stranger’s home. Every bit the bubbly sort of girl she was at school, Gwen quickly acclimated to her new lifestyle. When the opportunity came up to join a small theatre group as they toured the country, having successfully auditioned for their latest play, Beautiful Thing, Gwendolyn jumped at the chance. Starting in Hogsmeade, Gwendolyn was happy to find herself almost back at home.
