Gwendolyn Montgomery Pucey ([info]gwennie_) wrote,
Standing in front of the grave of Robert Wilkes
"Hi daddy." Gwen said softly as she crouched down to lay flowers on the grave. It was a bouquet of daisies which she always brought to his gravesite, Izzie had sunflowers and William always brought irises. She glanced up briefly at Izzie and Will who were standing next to her and smiled when Izzie rested her hand on her shoulder. Will had already had his turn, so now it was her chance to have a chat. "Happy Christmas." She added, looking at the large angel carrying the Wilkes crest. It was their family plot, with the motto inscribed at the angels feet and her grandparents names next to her fathers. The rest of their family was buried inches away stretching back generations.

"I made it in to Slytherin." She said, smiling softly as her eyes scanned the inscription. Reaching out, Gwendolyn ran her fingertips across it.
Robert Wilkes
Beloved father, husband and son
Strong. Pure. True
3 February 1947 - 16 December, 1980

"I'm doing really well in class too, daddy. Charms is great, and so's Potions. I don't like Herbology, but I promise to try better. I - " She stopped and looked down at her hands, now clutched in front of her. It wasn't fair that he wasn't there, that she didn't know him like Will did. "Miss you." Shaking her head, Gwen stood back up and moved to wrap her arms around her older brother, resting her head against his chest as Izzie moved to lay down her flowers.
