Being in her mother's wedding at the age of nine
"Stop fidgeting, Gwendolyn. You're nine-years-old, time to act like a lady." Auntie Julie hissed at Gwendolyn as she stood at the back of the church. Gwen stopped and looked up at her aunt, nodding solemnly. Looking down then at her pink dress, Gwen wanted to smooth it out, it was getting wrinkled and she didn't want to ruin her pretty pretty dress. Looking at her sister standing next to her, Gwen pulled a face, grinning as she started to giggle.
Auntie Julie gave her another look, and Gwen smiled innocently. Looking from Izzie to big wooden doors, Gwen wondered just how many people were beyond those doors, waiting for them. Even auntie Julie had only been around since her mum and Alastair had announced their wedding, but so many new people had come around in the last few months, that it was amazing to see all of these people that she hadn't even known she'd been related to!
Finally, the music sounded and Gwendolyn gripped her basket with rose petals. She looked excitedly at her sister and her cousin Christopher who was busy playing with the pillow. The doors opened, and just as they practices so many times, they started walking forward and down the isle. Mummy was marrying Alastair today but Gwen looked lovely and everyone was going to say how pretty she looked!
