It wasn’t explained to her until she turned 11 years old and a witch that was representing the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizarding visited the house to give the young girl her letter. Her parents were in shocked but Hermione always knew she was different. She was ecstatic but also a little sad she had to wait until next year before she could go. Instead she begged her parents to visit Diagon Alley often to get books and learn all she can about the magical world. When the following year arrived, Hermione was well prepared and even knew a few spells that she could preform perfectly.

The first person she met on the train was a boy named Neville Longbottom who had lost his pet toad. Hermione, being the helpful person she was, decided to help the poor boy. She stumbled upon Harry Potter and Ronald Weasley when looking for the toad. She was impressed to meet Harry, not so much Ron. Upon arriving to Hogwarts, Hermione was sorted into Gryffindor after nearly a Hat Stall, the Sorting Hat had difficulty choosing between Gryffindor or Ravenclaw.

She was became a start pupil, quickly earning the brightest student of their class. However, it did put a damper on making friendships as she came off a little bossy. She was also the student that liked to follow the rules and ended up following Ron and Harry out one night trying to stop them from breaking more rules. They saw Miss Norse and hide in a room on the third floor, which ended up having a nasty surprise as a three headed dog that was guarding a secret door. Hermione was no impressed at nearly being killed that she bid the boys good night after escaping death.

On Halloween Eve, after trying to help Ron with the levitation spell, she over heard him talking about her and it sent her crying to the girl’s bathroom. It just happened to be the night that a troll was set loose in the castle and entering the girl’s bathroom just as Hermione was leaving the stall after crying most of the afternoon. To her surprise Harry and Ron came to her rescue and to save them for getting into trouble, she lied to the Professors saying it was she that went after the troll after reading about them. That incident solidified her friendship with the two boys. She became more relaxed around the rule breaking but still tried her best to persuaded them not too.

Hermione continued to help the boys wherever she could, if it was looking over their homework to make sure they would not get bad remarks or saving Harry’s life during his first quidditch match after mistakenly thinking that Snape was jinxing it. Their biggest of that year was yet to come when she found out that Hagrid had managed to get a dragon egg. It was revealed that whoever gave Hagrid the egg also found out how to deal with Fluffy, the three head dog from earlier in the year. Against her better judgement, Hermione went with them when Harry wanted to get to the Philosopher's Stone, which they found out after poking around a bit. She freed Ron from the Devil’s Snare and later helped Harry with the last piece of the puzzle regarding the potions. She then went back to care for Ron who was injured from the chess game they played.

After the entire ordeal and while at the Farwell Feast, they were giving points and awards for their serveries to the school and ended up winning the House Cup for Gryffindor. She wrote to the boys each day during the summer and was worried when Harry didn’t answer any of them.

She was glad to see her best friends at Diagon Alley when they went for their school supplies. It was during her second year that Hermione was called a Mudblood, and being a muggle she had no idea what it meant. However she learned it was a prejudice and meant for an insult. She decided to ignore it as it came from Malfoy. Instead she focused on her celebrity crush, Professor Lockheart. She had read all his books and was beyond thrilled to learn he was to be their new teacher.

Later it seemed that there were attacks going on at the school, the first being Miss Norris, the caretaker’s cat. After that, Hermione started to spend all her free time in the library to read about what she could about the Chamber of Secrets but couldn’t find anything about it. She went as far as interrupting Mr. Binn’s class and asking him about the chamber. He told a little about it and Harry was conviced it was Draco doing it. Hermione checked out a book and made a Polyjuice potion for them to sneak into the Slytherin Commonroom and find out if it was the truth. However, her potion had cat hair in it and Hermione spent a week inside the Hospital Wing.

Months later, after learning that Harry was a parasletongue and the voice’s he heard in the walls, she had solved on what the monster was. However, before she could tell anyone the monster petrified her. She stilled was able to help as she had the page torn out of what the creature was and that it was using the pipes. Hermione was later cured and was sadden as a celebration of the monster being defeated and the school was to remain open that there would be no end of year exams.

Hermione bought a cat that summer before her third year, whom she named Crookshanks, but it also put a dent in her friendship with Ron and his pet rat. She even received a time-turner before the start of classes as Hermione wanted to take as many as possible. It did leave her with little sleep and a lot of homework. Her friends started to notice that one moment Hermione wouldn’t be there and the next he would. It was also the year when the killer, Sirius Black escaped from Azkaban. Their new DADA professor was the best in Hermione’s opinion and it didn’t change the fact when she learned he was a werewolf after an assignment given by Snape.

A rift between the friends happened when Ron blamed Hermione’s cat for eating scabbers after his rat disappeared. She started to spend more time helping Hagrid with his case with Buckbeak who was being blamed for harming Malfoy after an incident that he started. Even though she tried hard, the hearing failed and Buckbeak was sentence to death. Ron and Hermione made up and they decided to go down to Hagrid’s hut and to say their farewells to Buckbeak. On their way there, Hermione punched Malfoy in the nose after seeing his smug face and his glee about the outcome.

When at the hut, Hermione discovered Scabbers and as they were returning back to their dorms, he escaped again and into the Thumping Willow. Following the tunnel, it was revealed to lead to the shrinking shack and Sirius Black waiting for them. A turn of events happened and it was revealed that Scabbers was actually Peter Pettigrew, who ended up escaping again. When Snape came to turn Sirius over to the Dementors, the full moon came out and Remus turned into a werewolf.

Later it was revealed that Hermione and Harry was the ones that have Sirius escape and saving his life and Harry’s after Hermione used to her time turner. They also saved Buckbeak from death. After all that Remus still resigned and Hermione gave back the timer turner and lessened her workload to only the ones she liked.

During her fourth year, was a time of great change. It was the first time in over a century that the Tri-Wizard Tournament was restarted, but it was also one that Harry somehow got in. She believed that he was innocent and helped him with spells that might help him with his tasks. It was also the year when Hermione started SPEW and when she gained the attention of Viktor Krum, the world’s youngest seeker and another Champion from a visiting school. She agreed to go with him to the Yule Ball and was upset with Ron for him asking her as a last resort. The had a row in the commonroom and Hermione told him that if he wanted to go with her he should had asked her and not as a last resort.

She continued to support Harry during his tasks as they were growing increasingly dangerous. Hermione even found out Rita’s Skeeter’s secret as an unregistered animgus and threaten to spill her secrets if she didn’t stop writing. After the death of Cedric in the final task and the return of Lord Voldemort there seemed to be a gloom over the air. However, Hermione continued to support her friends

That summer she spent it at the Order of the Pheonix’s headquarters and couldn’t join because she was too young. When their letters came, Hermione found out she became Prefect, a job she took very seriously. Upon arriving back for her fifth year, she was very upset to discover that their new DADA did not actually teach them anything. Taking it upon herself, she urged Harry to start a club to teach them to defend themselves. It was going great until someone spilled the beans and told Umbridge about their location.

Hermione lied about Dumbledore’s Army and lead Umbridge into the forest where Grawp, Hagrid’s Half-brother was hanging out and into a pack of centaurs. After Umbridge was out of the way, Hermione and others rushed to the Ministry of Magic after Harry had a vision of Sirius being hurt. It ended up being a trapped and Hermione barely made it out with her life.

During the summer of her sixth year, she gently broke up with Krum. She wanted to focus more on her school work and the long distances thing was not panning out. Just as she was adjusting to her single life, another man entered. Cormac. It was a interest that she was not too thrilled about. Hermione also started to realize her own feelings towards Ron, especially during Potions class when the new Professor Slughorn asked anyone about the love potion.

It was the first time when Hermione found herself jealous over Ron’s new relationship with Lavender so in spite she asked Cormac to Professor Slughorn’s Christmas party, much to her regret. When Ron was placed in the hospital wing after an accidental poisoning, Hermione spent much of her time by his side. She ignored any and all teasing from Harry because of her feelings to their friend.

Despite the relationship that was developing, Hermione focused on her work and mastered non-verbal magic after she passed her Apparition test. At the end of the year, she drank some of the Felix Felicius potion during a battle at Hogwarts, where Professor Dumbledore had died. Thanks to the potion, Hermione once again came out unhurt and each of her spells landed true to their mark. She decided that she would join Harry on his quest to find the Horcurxes and help defeat Voldemort.

Before leaving the castle, Hermione began to prepare. She summoned books about Horcurxes from Dumbledore’s office so they may learn more about them. She even altered her parents memory so they didn’t think they had a daughter and moved to Australia so they would be safe, and withdrew all her money.

She was part of the Seven Harry and she flew with Shacklebolt and fought off Death Eaters who thought she was the real Harry. She was glad to know that her best friends survived but sad when news of Moody died as well as Hedwing. Later Hermione received The Tales of Beedle the Bard from Dumbledore’s will, which was written in runes. At Bill and Fluer’s wedding, Hermione was ready to leave at a moment’s notice and when the ministry fell, she quickly found Ron and Harry and disapparating them away.

The spent weeks afterwards trying to find any leads about the Horcruxes and eventually found one in Umbridge’s possessions. They made plans to enter the Ministry of Magic and take it. She was almost caught but they managed to steal the locket and with a twist of fate they couldn’t return back to 12 Grimmauld Place as a death eater had caught ahold of them and they fled into the wilderness.

Not knowing how to destroy the locket, they spent another couple of weeks with a growing tension between the friends. It lead to Ron to leaving and Hermione staying with Harry, which lead to Ron to yell at her for choosing Harry over him. She cried over a week about his departure. Near Christmas time, Hermione visited Godric Hallow with Harry to visit his family home. There they were attacked by Nagini, Hermione came to Harry’s aid and both fled to a forest before Voldemort could get them. She healed Harry’s bit and told him not to wear the locket for awhile.

After the attack, Ron returned back to them much to Hermione’s pleasure. She was still upset that he left them in the first place but was glad he was safe. During one night, Hermione noticed a symbol in the book left to her by Dumbledore. It was the same symbol that Luna’s father was wearing at the wedding. There Luna’s father betrayed them because the Death Eater’s took Luna. They were captured and taken to the Malfoy Manner.

After seeing the sword, Bellatrix began to torture Hermione for answers, writing the words Mudblood on her forearm. The pain was unbearable as Hermione would scream as the words were carve she never gave into anything. She was recused when Dobby came and the elf took them to safety, costing his own life. At the Shell Cottage, Hermione’s wounds were tended and knew that Bellatrix had another horcruxe possible in her bank, as she kept asking how she got into the bank.

Disguising as Bellatrix, Hermione led the trio to the bank and they got to the vault, but it was getting out that was difficult. They were able to steal the Cup and ended up riding the dragon out. They had lost the sword so they had no means of destroy the Cup. In May, Hermione found herself at Hogwarts with a group of students that went into hiding. The trio split up with Hermione and Ron going to find a fang so they could destroy the cup. A short time later, Ron expressed concern over the house elves and that prompt Hermione to kiss Ron for the first time.

The battle was horrible and many friends had died, including Ron’s brother Fred. She even fought Bellatrix using the woman’s own wand. The battle ended when Harry killed Voldemort after Neville destroyed the last Horcurxes. It was finally over.

Adulthood:
After the Battle of Hogwarts, Hermione returned back to school to finish her education. It was strange going back to the same castle where a major battle had taken place. Hermione tried to make the most of it and focused on her studies and her budding romance with Ron Weasley. She scored all O's on her final exams, much to her delight and ended up securing a job within the Ministry of Magic.

Hermione continued her relationship with Ron and supported him as he went through Auror training. With her own work to focus on, she did spend a lot of time in her office and often had to be pulled away from work. She did not want any special treatment simply because her best friend was Harry Potter nor of her involvement in helping stop Lord Voldemort. Hermione wanted to prove to herself and others that she was an capable witch regardless of who she knew or her blood status.

She got a promotion within a year of starting to the head assistant of the Deputy of the Department. Her hard work and dedication finally coming into fruition. After a few years in her position, Hermione is considering moving departments as she has her eye on becoming Minister of Magic. She is hoping to become the first Muggleborn Minister of Magic and she cannot help but thinking of the progress she could achieve.
