Family:Hermon Granger - Father, Jean Granger - Mother
Blood Ancestry:Muggleborn
History:Hermione was born to muggle parents named Herman and Jean Granger on the morning of September 9th. She had a fairly normal childhood, until she turned the age of 7 when mysterious things started to happen around her. Hermione nor her parents had any real answers for these strange occurrences. Whatever it was, Hermione had complete control over it, nothing bad every really happened.
It wasn’t until she turned 11, when a person dressed in funny robes came to the house with a letter addressed to her. It was then Hermione understood what she was, a witch. Her parents were a little bewildered by it but were nonetheless proud that their daughter was anything but ordinary. Hermione begged her parents to visit Diagon Alley, an all magic community in the heart of London. She got her school books and items and even got a few extra books to learn more about the magical world. By the time she was heading to Hogwarts, Hermione already mastered a few simple spells and knew a fair amount of the magical world – unlike other Muggleborns like her.
Upon entering the school, Hermione was almost a hatstall. The sorting hat had difficulty placing her, as Hermione was suited for both Ravenclaw and Gryffindor. After two minutes, the hat finally called out Gryffindor – which Hermione said she would like to go into as it sounded the best. She was greeted with cheers from her table as she joined the rest of the Gryffindors for the rest of the Welcoming Feast.
Hermione excelled in school, earning a title of smartest witch of her year. Many Ravenclaws wondered why she wasn’t sorted into their house, as she would even receive better marks then them. Though Hermione tried to help other students succeed she often came off as bossy or a know-it-all. She was trying to prove to herself that a muggleborn could just be as successful at being a witch and at magic than a pureblood. In her third year, she received a time turner as she wanted to take all the classes. She ended up giving it back at the end of the year due to it being too much. She kept the classes she liked the best.
In her fourth year, she gained the attention of Viktor Krum. The world’s youngest professional seeker for Quidditch and one of the Champions that came to the school to compete in the Triwizard Tournament. Hermione never made advanced on him and he usually just watched her study, which she found a little unnerving. She gained a little popularity when she arrived at the Yule Ball as his date. When the tournament ended, Hermione continued to write to him but eventually the long distance was too much and Hermione let him down gentle, remaining good friends with him.
She received Prefect when she was in her fifth year. A duty she was very loyal too. It was also the first exam, OWLS. It was a very stressful year with the homework piling up and everyone reminding her how important it was. That summer she was stressing as she awaited the results of her OWLS, which she ended up getting O marks on each subject – a very rare feat.
In her sixth year, Hermione decided that she wanted to go into the Ministry for work. The current Minister, Riddle, was a great example of what Hermione wanted to achieve. He was her inspiration to eventually run for Minister of Magic. Her sixth year was still a busy time, though she had no exams they were still prepping her for her NEWTS. Hermione also mastered casting spells without words and she passed her apparition test that Spring.
In her seventh year, Hermione was named Head Girl. It was also her final year at Hogwarts and it was even busier than all the rest of the years combined. All of her free time was spent in the library as she was hoping to get really good marks to get into the ministry that following year. She felt her anxiety spike in the weeks before the finals and it didn’t die down after she took it. It wasn’t until she got that final exam score in the mail that she truly felt accomplished. Once again she got all O marks.
With school finished, Hermione started to apply within the Ministry. She was able to get into a low level entry job working for the Minister. She mainly wrote notes and files away documents. Hermione spent two years in this role before being promoted into Assistant to one of the under-secretaries for the Minister. She held this role for almost five years when the SR. Under Secretary retired and the JR. Under Secretary was promoted. They put in a good word for Hermione and soon she was promoted to Jr. Under-Secretary. A role she continues to have to this day.
She loves her job working so close to a great man who wants nothing more but equal rights between Muggle-borns and Purebloods.
Physical Description:http://pigalle.insanejournal.com/6973.html Hermione is well known for her busy hair that she has tamed to a great extent since graduating Hogwarts. However, whenever she becomes frantic it goes back to its frizzy self. She has perfect teeth after an incident where a spell hit her front teeth causing it to grow large and then Madam Profrey reversed it. She wears professional robes to work but when she is off the clocks she wears normal muggle clothing. Also Hermione has been experiment wearing makeup but often times goes without it.
Personality:Hermione is a very hard working individual. She did not get to where she is at by slacking and barely getting by. She is quite ambitious and sets the bar high for herself and she will accept nothing less of perfection when it comes to her work. She does second guess herself as she wants to make sure everything is correct. She is a perfectionist and it isn't just in her work. It has spilled over into her personal life. Her entire flat has to be orderly and will not settle for chaos.
She is very loyal to her friends and family and will always stick up for them. Even if she does come off as bossy and very skeptical about things. She hates it when people ask her to believe in something without any proof. She has a very logical approach to everything and has to think things through before she acts. She gets a little nervous or anxious when she doesn't have time to plan it out and has to go with the flow. In some ways, Hermione is a little insecure about herself or her capability of doing things. She often times needs that extra push or reassurance and she is reminded that she is just being silly.
Hermione is very intelligent and was often called the brightest witch of her class. She isn't going to lie and be modest about it, she is truely proud of this. Hermione is not above using coercion or threats to get what she wants. It might sound horrible, but Hermione really knows how to find someone's secrets and use it against them. She really showed this when dealing with Rita Skeeter, blackmailing her into not writing for an entire year. Hermione does not regret it and will do it again.
Hermione is a rule follower rather than a rule breaker. She will bend the rules or find loop holes around them. Otherwise, she is a very responsible young lady whom people can rely on. When she says she is going to do something she will follow through it to the very end.
First Impression: First impressions she tends to look approachable and a little friendly. When she opens her mouth, it sound like she is better and smarter than you. It has toned down over the years but really she cannot change all of that as people can be rather stupid at times.
