POWERS: Marnie has explosive telekinesis. To put it in layman's terms, she's like a human Psyduck. The more stressed or anxious she gets, her psychic power builds and builds in the form of a growing migraine. When it finally gets to where she can't take it anymore, it releases in the form of a concussive psychic blast that will cause massive amounts of damage to anything in a small radius.
BIO: Marnie grew up a very sick girl, with crippling migraines constantly causing her to cancel plans, stay at home for days on end, and essentially costing her any chance of having friends. Her constant worrying about her migraines, her dwindling social status, and the toll her health was taking on her parents combined to give the girl a serious problem with anxiety, which she typically shows by speedy rambling, not being able to look in one direction more than a second or two, and fidgeting badly.
At 14, her powers manifested, when during one migraine, she got into an argument with her father, making it worse. She finally couldn't take the pain anymore and screamed, as a psychic blast demolished nearly her entire bedroom. Now terrified of his own (otherwise harmless) daughter, he had her sent to the Jean Grey School, the only place he could think of that would take her off his hands without harming her.
Now among her own kind, Marnie tries to be social, but her anxiety mostly prevents her from getting too close to anyone, afraid of her power hurting someone or damaging her surroundings. Not knowing what to say when she makes a friend or likes someone, she tends to just give them a big bear hug. She's fond of saying afterward, "I didn't choose the hug life. The hug life chose me."
Marnie is kind-hearted, just a little weird, obsesses over anything she becomes interested in, and is almost always reading a book.
