PERSONALITY & DEMEANOR Love is patient Kindness' personality is a bit in the name, really. Basically she's the best friend you could have asked for. She's friendship without thought for herself. She's sweet and loving and silly. She trusts completely and forgives immediately and without reserve. In fact, she makes it incredibly easy to take advantage of her and she doesn't mind one bit. She is basically almost always cheerful. She can get sad sometimes, though it's always tied to humans being terrible to each other. Even if she's down she will never take it out on anyone else. She wouldn't dare. Kindness is so often tied to love and though she doesn't really have the ability to have a one on one relationship with someone because her love is to be shared with everyone, she does have sexual relationships at times. She is, of course, a very giving lover. Basically it's all about the other person. She would do anything she could for anyone, no matter who they were or where they came from. | ||||
PERSONAL HISTORY Love is kind In the poem Psychomachia written by a Christian Governor, Aurelius Prudentius, in 410 AD, the seven holy virtues were laid out for the first time. Aurelius took the idea from Plato and Aristotle who proposed the idea of virtues and vices centuries before. Aristotle laid them out in his tome Nichomachean Ethics and at the time there were only four cardinal virtues: temperance, wisdom, justice, and courage. The virtues were seen as the counterparts to the seven deadly sins. In the middle ages the popularity of Prudentius soared and the idea of virtues spread. Pratice of the virtues was to protect one's self from sin. Kindness' opposite sin is that of Envy. Kindness came to America with the first pilgrims who were fleeing religious 'persecution'. She spent those first decades living as a puritan, though she left that life behind when more people followed and began to populate the country with Christians. More recently she has been working hard to keep kindness going. She has lived in New York since 2001, believing it was where her her efforts were needed. | ||||
