i'm drunk*. the especially comfortable stage where i know full well that i'm drunk and i (still) know what the limitations are, but i can't feel lots of thing and i have trouble hearing and tasting and all that...
now, if i can just maintain this state and not sober up...
the bar across the street was lovely for new years eve... the bartender there that my friends said they knew is cute cute cute and did hook me up with cheap alcohol. the music was good, especially after midnight, but after a while, in my current state, it got to be too much.
i did meet this nice couple... chemistry people. literally. interesting pair. we treaded contact info... what's the protocol on that? when you're a single guy and you meet a nice couple and exchange phone numbers, should i be planning to call them or should i be waiting for them to call? and if i am calling them (or even if i'm not), what is the appropriate kind of thing to be asking them if they'd like to do with me?
but they're nice and they made it easy to sit there from 9:20 until well after midnight. it was good that i got there early--there was a line later, and that would have been annoying...
almost as annoying as trying to touch type when you can't feel your hands...

* and lest you think i'm some total drunkard, you nonexistent people who have just started reading my journal or who only read the public entries, i'm really not; it's just the season and the freedom from work (winter break) that have got me drinking so much.
