You have people around you who care enough to read what you write and comment in a helpful manner, but they will probably never know you. I have been doing it recently less for the writing, more for the strange "I will never know you, but I will spend all week commenting in your journal because I care about you, unknown internet stranger" relationships.
yeah, i'm generally right there with you on that, except for the "I will never know you" part--not that I've face-to-face met every one of my journal friends (nor do i plan to), but I've met, hmmm, 2 so far and there are a few others i wouldn't mind meeting eventually.
I guess I'd just forgotten how long it took on uJ to build up the group of journal-friends i had and i was somehow expecting to magically have a large group of people reading my IJ right away.
But I do think I'm starting to have a group of regular readers, so it's getting better.
