I adore my paper journal. I find myself writing pages each day. I believe it has to do with having a sense of creating something, not unlike painting or even knitting. While online journals are wonderful, you are, inevitably, writing to some sort of audience. When you write in a paper journal, you are doing it for yourself. Plus, you have the freedom to doodle, color and tape things in, which I frequently do.
