Who: Severus, Louisa, and Bronte What: A slice of their new life. When: Five weeks after Bronte's birth Where: Hogwarts Why: Aren't you curious?
It had taken a few weeks, but Severus had finally managed to get Bronte into a workable routine, which had also helped Louisa cope, somewhat, with all the new demands. Fortunately, Bronte was hungry and feeding every four hours, and sleeping approximately sixteen hours a day, with hours at a time when she was awake, alert, and wanting to be engaged. And Severus had even organised time for Hogwarts business during her morning and evening naps. The system was working, but Severus was exhausted, concerned, and feeling a bit alone in this. Louisa was not fully participating.
Glancing at the small clock on his desk, he was startled to find he had worked for too long; Bronte should have awakened from her morning nap, and he was, well not exactly on the other side of the castle, but many floors above where she was.
Without even putting out lights, Severus hurried from his office, down many flights of stairs to their rooms where he found Louisa reading, and Bronte awake. She wasn't crying, but she was beginning to object.
"Good morning," Severus said, going to Louisa first, since Bronte wasn't fully demanding attention yet. "How are you feeling?"
