hey, kiddo. i know we only met once, but i wanted to talk to you about jayden. i'm sure you've noticed he's been hiding things lately and we're so worried about him. he told us he's seeing a counsellor on campus, but i don't know if it's had any affect.

has he said anything to you?

You mean like how he's never hungry, ever? Yeah, I've noticed. Dancers do the same thing to try and lose weight fast. Not that he, or they, had any to lose in the first place.

But no, he hasn't said anything.

How do you think? I've seen this happen before - talented people with all the potential in the world, starving themselves because they think they have to be thin for some reason or another. A girl a year ahead of me damaged her insides so much she had to quit.

So I'm scared for him. A lot.

so are we. we might need to intervene and if that happens I didn't want it to take you by surprise.

I appreciate the heads up. I just don't want to push him too hard and have things get worse.

i agree. he's pulled away from all of us and he's never home during mealtimes any more. actually he's hardly home when we're awake at all.

Crossing my fingers that that boy sticks around through all the shit that might go down. He seems like a good kid.

Neither do I, but I'm pleased he seems to be making a friend.

I haven't, now you mention it. Not that it surprises me.
