TOP 5 STRENGTHS:
TOP 5 FLAWS:
GREATEST DESIRE/MOTIVATION: While he has had numerous non-fiction texts published, he has a penchant for crime fiction and would like to receive some recognition in that area.
GREATEST FEAR: That he is ruled too much by his career and that perhaps he did have a good thing going with Lisette.
ROYAL AMBITION: Democracy! Longbottoms all the way.
TOP 5 DEFINING MOMENTS:
Brother: In some aspects, these two men are very different. Their personality traits can often collide and their competitive nature (while generally well-intentioned) has gotten them into some very difficult situations. In the daring stakes, they have pushed each other to their limit. Despite this, there is nothing Gideon would not do for his brother. They are very much kindred spirits and he has a lot of respect, professionally and personally, for his 'better half'.
Career: This has been the making of Gideon. Throughout school, he could never quite decide on what he wanted to do. He knew he needed something with a thrill and adventure so when the opportunity came to train as a Cursebreaker, he took it with both hands. When coupled with his brother, he could not have been happier with the decision.
Marriage and Divorce: Lisette knew the deal when they married and he never made any secret of his passion for his job or the fact that it would take him away. When he was around, he was a doting husband and father. He always kept in contact when he was away and on many occasions Apparated back at the whisper of a request. The problems came when the children began to fly the nest. Their absence also made Gideon's all the more prominent and the tensions grew as he chose to spend more time away from England. When coupled with her tempestuous relationship with Fabian, it came as no real surprise when they split.
Children: His children are very important to him and he has a constant fear that his career has damaged their relationship. He wants what is best for them and has never tried to push any traditional ideals on them--a stark contrast to their mother.
Author: He has published many non-fiction travel (and curse-breaking) texts which have garnered him a bit of an adventurous reputation (think the Wizarding Bear Grylls... but actually good). He writes a lot of crime fiction on the side but has yet to attempt to get this published.
HAPPIEST MEMORY: The first time Lucas managed to stay put on his broomstick when he was teaching him how to fly. He obviously takes credit for his son's skills.
WORST MEMORY: The divorce. Really, he knew the time had been looming and that since the children had left, their marriage had slowly been unravelling. Lisette couldn't handle his relationship with his brother or the fact that his work took him away. He still has feelings for her and he knows he was the reason for the breakup.
BIGGEST SECRET: He very nearly killed the men who tortured Fabian. Though his brother thought that he was unaware of the attackers, with some careful research he was able to find them. It's something he feels very conflicted about as while he would always defend his brother, he knew he crossed the line with his actions that night. He ended up taking all of the men to a hospital, leaving them slumped in the doorway.
WHERE ARE THEY NOW?: Back in the UK for the time being after being away for the past year (though he did make it back for special occasions and holidays for a few short days). While he does plan to stick around a bit while he works on his novel and strengthen his relationship with his kids, he will likely have a few trips away.
DIFFERENCE FROM CANON: He's alive and a Cursebreaker--and Bill Weasley's favourite uncle. The latter should obviously be canon.
FIRST PERSON: England, you never change! Even though I have spent the past year in the middle of the rainforest with warring tribes around every corner, there is still more conflict in these civilised streets than in the depths of the jungle. Merlin, I am glad I shackled the girls in the basement before I left. I am sure the lack of sun has made their complexions ghastly and unsuitable for any proper Pureblood gent while the lack of social interaction will have turned them into bores. It really is every father's dream.
I have a bottle of scotch with my name on it. You can come along too.
Please go at least one day without encroaching on the crotches of men who do not make their sexuality expressly clear to you. I do not want another incident of being chased through the jungle by men in headdresses.
THIRD PERSON: Apparently current players don't need one? I blame Robyn for letting me know this.
PLOT IDEAS: Interactions with his kids now he's likely to be around a bit more! Also the relationship between his ex-wife. Oh! And getting his fiction published.
