Born in Anjō, Japan, but raised equally there and in Los Angeles, CA, Rei grew up fascinated with video games, comics, and the like. But when she was 15, her first boyfriend took her with him to a wrestling show, and she was instantly hooked. At 17, she signed up for classes at a wrestling school run by a local independent worker. She quickly graduated, soon easily surpassing the man who taught her. She began to travel around the country, trying to train with as many different teachers as she could. It was in Philadelphia, PA, that she met a young trainee named John Wilson. She was a couple of years older than him, but they immediately struck up a friendship so pure and true that they could at times finish each other's sentences. She helped him with his training all while gaining more of her own. They began to take indie bookings together, so that they'd each have a travel buddy. Eventually, John and his brother were both signed to DPW, while Rei went to Japan to take bookings for several of the Joshi promotions there as well as do modeling and acting work. Even then, however, they kept in constant touch via email, social media, etc.
Rei was about to sign her first long-term, big money contract with the STARDOM promotion when the Reality Gem decided it had other plans for her, and deposited her in Marvel 616...
