APPEARANCE:
At 5'6, Lyra definitely didn't inherit her height from her mother. Infact she's not sure where her fairly average height came from at all. If it wasn't for the curse she's sure people would question her parentage, and even she finds it unfair not to have inherited her mother's blue eyes to go with her dark waves of hair, instead having ever changing hazel eyes.

Her body is kept tight with her life as a dance student and the care she puts into keeping herself both physically able to do what she loves on that stage, and physically desirable enough to capitalise on that as needed. She knows appearance does matter, especially in her chosen career, so she knows she needs to look after herself to an extent.

OVERALL PERSONALITY:
One thing no-one has ever accused Lyra of, is antisocial. She loves to meet people and try new things. Especially now she's graduated Hogwarts, she's keen to explore the wizarding world open to her now as an 'adult'. This extends to her sex life too, open to trying things, and equally happy to fool around with either sex.

Some have called her two faced due to her tendency to try and smile, nod, and just glide on past the people who rub her the wrong way while in public. She doesn't see it as two faced, just avoiding losing her temper, which is what happens if people don't let her ignore them. That isn't so pretty, causing her to lash out, and she dislikes the things she does then. She isn't above playing small pranks to annoy, but never aims to intentionally hurt people properly with them, and it upsets her to think she might have.

Dance is a large part of who she is. It's like Lyra transforms the second she steps out onto that stage or the center of the studio. It's clear when you watch her that it's her passion, and she is ruthless in advancing herself. When it comes to getting ahead, that's when she'll step on others if that's what it takes. She won't injure someone or sabotage them, but if she can find some way to make herself look better suited or wheedle her way into a piece or a favourable situation, that's fair. Hey, that's showbiz though.

HISTORY:
The youngest child, and the only daughter, Lyra was a surprise from the second she came into her family's lives, and she aimed to keep that up. Growing up with older brothers and a mother who never seemed to worry about femininity, she was a bit of a tomboy in the early years. She was happy to throw herself around, get dirty, try flying with her family (although she preferred watching quidditch to trying to play herself), and take their lead on what sort of activities were appropriate.

Even then though, she knew how to play the little girl card when she needed to, when she didn't want to get in trouble, or didn't want to do something. She wasn't above trying to wrap her daddy and her brothers around her little finger. Lyra was never the type to throw tantrums though, probably knowing it wouldn't get her far in this family. Instead she simply accepted the 'no' with a sad acceptance, which sometimes got her what she wanted anyway as they felt bad at her reaction.

Dance was something she begged to be allowed to do as her one thing that was all hers. It turned out to be well worth any begging too, sparking a life long love for it. From that first class she was won over and looked forward to every new class and chance to dance. Every birthday she asked for new dance stuff, or tickets to watch the ballet. Her mother didn't really have a clue how to deal with that side of her, never the type to be sitting gossiping with the other dance mothers, but it was clear it was what Lyra loved, and her parents's support meant a lot.

Eventually her time to follow her brothers to Hogwarts came, and she was half expecting to be placed in Gryffindor, like her father, but she was open to making the most of that. When the time came though, and the Sorting Hat was deliberating (to put her with the brave and impulsive Gryffindors, or with the sneaky Slytherins?) Lyra urged on the latter idea. Why not? It would be cool.

So off she went to Slytherin, which could have been a disastrous idea had she ever waited long enough on anything to learn to be truly calculating about getting what she wanted. What she did learn was how to more subtly skirt around the school's rules, although there were many detentions and points taken from her house over her 7 years there when Lyra did accidentally get caught. It was also during her time at the school that the tomboy started to take a backseat and she learned it was just as fun to be a girl too, especially if you knew how to play it.

All in all, Lyra's education wasn't wasted though, she excelled in Charms and Transfiguration, zoning out in History of Magic and Herbology in particular, but still achieving a good amount of OWLs and NEWTs at the end of it. Ask her though and she will tell you the best things she learnt are the ones she can't tell you about. What? She was a teenager, hey, she still is!

Now in her first year as a dance student at WADA, she's choosing to block out the new whisperings of lurking evil and focusing on her classes and her social life. Life is for living, and if there's something sinister out there threatening things, maybe that's just even more of an excuse to enjoy things while they can.
