APPEARANCE: Mary is a tiny ball of energy, standing at only 5'1. Brown hair falls long around her shoulders, with a very slight natural wave, but sometimes she bothers to take the time to charm it into loose curls. She prefers a casual style of dress when she's not at St Mungos in her uniform.

OVERALL PERSONALITY:
Curious - What would life be if we all just stayed in our own lanes and behaved? Mary can't help but be curious about things, even when it sometimes gets her in trouble, and it often does.

Split - While Mary loves being a witch, she often finds herself feeling a little guilty about how it has taken over her life. She wants to remember and stay a part of the muggle world, but the truth is apart from her family, everything else is tied to her friends and life in the wizarding world.

Experiences - She just wants to experience life, all of it. It's part of why she became a healer even, the fact her days will never be the same. She needs change and progression.

ROLE IN WAR: She wants to help, but isn't entirely sure of the best way to do so. For now she is focusing on her healer training in hopes she can make a difference that way.
POLITICAL VIEWS: Naturally she has strong feelings about how stupid the whole blood purity thing is. Why are the idiots so scared of new blood, of diversity? She just wants everyone to learn from each other.

HISTORY:
There she was, growing up in south London with her muggle parents, attending the primary school down the road, and then bam! Wizards happened! Until she was eleven Mary had a pretty normal life, with loving parents, friends from the road she lived on, and then one day everything changed. The visitor from Hogwarts brought a new world into their lives, one with magic and a magic school she was meant to go to. Bonkers, right?

That first visit to Diagon Alley to get everything she needed was weird enough, but it almost felt like a dream, a joke. Hogwarts itself though? That was when it really sunk in that she was now a part of a completely different society. There were all these kids who just seemed to take it all for granted, and that struck her as even weirder. Her placement in Gryffindor helped a little, she found other muggleborns who understood how freaking bizarre some of this stuff was and helped each other through their time at the actual real life castle they now spent most of their year in.

The theoretical bits, while still fascinating just for the fact it was about wizarding, were hard for Mary to concentrate on, she did much better with the practical classes. Potions quickly became one of her favourite subjects, alongside charms and herbology. DADA freaked her out a little just for how many things and ways there were out there to get hurt, especially knowing being a 'mudblood' made her a target for some witches and wizards who didn't think she belonged in their world. There were some rough bits with idiots who though they were big for shouting insults and trying to hex her when she didn't cower away, but she'd just fire back some quick response or roll her eyes and pretend it didn't matter. (Spoiler: It did matter, of course it mattered. She was a teenage girl who wanted to be liked damn it.)

Ever since they started discussing careers she was determined to get a spot on the healer training programme once she left school. Always changing, never knowing what the day would bring... and she got to help people, do something fulfilling. When Hogwarts finished Mary couldn't wait to get to St Mungos' and her training. Almost two years and she's looking at continuing on and specialising in children's healing. She knows tensions are high, the war is looming over everyone, and she wants to be able to help the most vulnerable.
