How would they behave during the interview process? Akaashi behaved appropriately. A bit neutral throughout the whole experience, did more listening then talking. He would interrupt to get clarification on the types of magic and his arrival here. Akaashi also took notes on what he was told and kept a record. He asked officials for more information on their surroundings, and while not required to, still took the local law class to make sure he was familiar with everything around him. Akaashi asked about his teammates, but more specifically Koutarou Bokuto, who had just been speaking with prior to arrival.
Brief History It was just another game, right? Same team. Same strategy. Nothing could go wrong.
Except it did.
No one said Nationals would be easy. Only the best high schools in all of Japan would compete. His own team had one of the top five aces in the country, so all things considered, Akaashi should've seen it coming. Mujinazaka High School was a powerhouse, housing one of the top three spikers. Mujinazaka didn't get into nationals for nothing. So why? Why had he attempted a setter dump? Why hadn't he just set to his ace? He wasn't thinking rationally anymore.
Being benched for a majority of the game wasn't in the plan, either. When all of the pressure built that this could be the final game for Fukurōdani's third years, and mostly notibly, Bokuto-san's. That was it. He'd lost his cool in front of everyone. The amount of point's they'd lost. Akaashi had told himself he'd never let this sort of thing under his skin so easily, but he had, and it almost cost the team the game. You don't control the flow of the game. That's what coach said. All that responsibility of keeping Bokuto-san's dejected mode under control, and he'd forgotten the actual point of the game.
Switching back into the game had been humiliating, but rest assured, Akaashi made sure the team got back into the flow of the game once he was setting again. This time, he sent a perfect set to Bokuto, who scored like he always does. They won, but Akaashi believed it was only that luck was on their side this time. Bokuto's words rang out in his ears: It's okay if we lose. Which meant a lot, coming from the ace who usually refused to do so.
After the game, Akaashi headed to the bench to collect his things. He noticed Bokuto approaching, telling him about his rookie-like plays but to keep his head up. The two of them began to talk strategy, when Akaashi took a step backwards and fell directly into an opening portal to Eerie Harbor.
