NAME: Pandora (Lydia)
AGE: 35 / 15 B.C. (about 2000 years old)
GENDER: Female
SPECIES: Vampire
AIM: a roman tragedy
PLAY BY: Monica Bellucci
MAKER: Marius De Romanus
PERSONALITY: Pandora takes interest in all sorts of things; anything that catches her attention will get her ticking and keep her attention as long as it’s making her think. She takes anything as a challenge, always wanting to challenge herself with new adventures. She can often spread herself too thinly, wanting to keep herself busy while keeping herself from becoming attached to any one thing, person or place. That often leads to her being a bit of a rolling stone, her home is where she makes it and she doesn’t stay more than two or three years in any one city or town. Her flighty personality is often taken as though she is superficial, only caring for herself; she, on the other hand, takes it as she’s only on the move to keep herself from becoming stagnated. Though, she’s slowly learned to pace herself, she often exhausts herself with all of her activities.
While some people perceive her to be arrogant or stuck up, the few people, usually quick-witted and intellectuals, who can get her attention, enjoy her company – she has an endless stockpile of topics she can discuss. Pandora is forever a student – learned from her maker. The loss of her maker has left her delicate and with a hole in her spirit that she has yet been able to fill with all her activities or any other relationships, and so she is often detached. She has become bitter with age, furious with her loneliness – betrayed by her brother, orphaned by both her mortal and immortal fathers. Her loneliness has taken a shape very different from the common immortal, her loneliness is deep seeded.
HISTORY/BIO: Pandora was born to a Senatorial family of the Roman Republic some years before the birth of Christ, her birth name was Lydia – her last name is left unknown since she claims a family still exists with the same last name. Lydia meets her eventual maker, Marius, for the first time when she is ten and he is twenty-five. He is the bastard-son of a Senator, so when Marius asks for Lydia’s hand in marriage her father promptly rejects him. A few years later, Marius and Lydia meet again at a Bacchus celebration – they spend some of the night together and she asks her father to let her marry Marius, her father again rejects the idea. Lydia eventually moved on after Marius left, marrying various times but never having any children from those unions. Many years pass and when a power struggle in Rome erupts her entire family is murdered, except her traitor brother – Lydia is able to escape because of the plans her father made for her. She’s taken t Antioch where she sees again Marius, for the first time in twenty years.
After some time together, Pandora – now using a new name to keep herself safe, she figures out that Marius is no longer … normal. His habits and tendencies give it away and she realizes what he is and what he does. He protects the Queen and King of all Vampires, Those Who Must Be Kept. Akasha and Enkil. A rogue vampire comes along and to bribe Marius into letting him see the King and Queen he drains Pandora to the point of death. Marius agrees to let him see the Queen and King, where he is then killed by the Queen, and Marius is forced to make Pandora into a vampire. While with Marius she turned her trusted and beloved, one legged slave into a vampire. After a little over two hundred years of caring for the King and Queen with Marius they argued and parted ways. She waited months for him and although she left their home after that – she’s never stopped hoping he’d return at some point.
They meet again in Dresden in the mid-1700s, when Marius begs her to leave her companion and return to him. She denies him, bitter with him and her obsession with Arjun keeping her tied to her fledgling. Later when the Queen of the Damned arises from her long slumber, Pandora is in different and withdrawn to the whole plot to kill her – not minding if she is killed for not standing with the Queen. She moved to Armand’s Night Island in Florida after the ordeal with the majority of the surviving vampires – but remains withdrawn from the group, although, Marius tries whole heartedly to make up for his mistakes.
