017; 1 November 1979.
[Warded Private]

It was merely bad luck, and it can be healed and it is not life threatening, but it is painful all the same. And humiliating.

I attempted to get Lucia towards the door, but I failed in that instruction. Or she failed to follow them. The difference is inconsequential for as her husband, it is my duty to be certain that she is safe, something that cannot be done when she will not follow my instructions. Then again perhaps this should not surprise me considering her current attitude.

I am well aware she is not happy about Thursday. I do not know what she would have me do. The Dark Lord expects absolute devotion from his followers, and I cannot set a poor example for young Regulus. I do not wish the boy to go the way of Gavin Avery. If I move it, it may give him the wrong idea about the importance of this training. I simply do not know how to best please her. She cannot possibly want for anything, and I know that she understands the importance of duty and of our position. I remembered, I attempted to make plans for us to spend the evening together, what else can she possibly expect?

It may have been eleven years but she remains completely unfathomable.

[Warded to Mina]
I hope that if you attended the masquerade, you found your way out of it unscathed. Please do put my mind at ease that this is the case.

[Warded to Regulus, Rabastan, Persephone, and Lucius]
A report from each of you if you will. Are you injured and if so how badly. Did you recognise your opponent and was it someone from the DMLE or another individual? As a result of your battles, what would you prefer to work on this week during your session?

I will expect to see each of you on your scheduled night this week, and we will begin our group training next Saturday.

I'm not injured; I was knocked around a bit but nothing serious. I didn't recognise my opponent and he was careful to conceal his identity by casting silent spells.

I'd most like to work on defensive work, if that is deemed acceptable.

I believe it was a civilian.

Very well. If you remember anything else pertinent you may tell me on Thursday.

Someone set me hair on fir Compared to most, I am well. I trust that you are similar? I've been reading notes all day from people with injured loved ones, and I confess to having been worried.

And my mind is now at ease. I am fortunate that I have a strong shield charm I suppose. I admit, I have had enough of large gatherings for a bit.

I'd had enough of large gatherings ages ago. I'm not sure why I attended this one. Likely because you said you'd be th I think it's important to spend time with those you care about in the wake of such tragedy. I've been at home with my parents, and my sister, of course when she's not shagging older men-- oh wait

I rather agree. What are you doing on Saturday evening, Mina?

I have no plans. Would you like to meet? If you don't mind, I'd rather prefer to stay in. I have no taste for crowds at this moment.

I would like to meet, yes and I have no disinclination towards staying in. Did you have something in mind?

No injuries worth mentioning. Shattered a rib, but it's been dealt with.

As for my opponent: not a member of the DMLE, but most decidedly not a wizard if we can draw such an assumption from a man who does all his fighting with a nonmagical sword as his sole means of dueling.

I'm reasonably confident Muggles were not on the guest list. Any ideas?

In that case, I will disregard the notion of Muggles that had imbibed some serious potions, leaving me with only one plausible idea: a vampire. Male. A squib would never have been able to handle himself like this one did.

Vampire. Well now that is an interesting notion. So thus far we have witches and wizards and potentially vampires that are fighting alongside the DMLE. But I am guessing not so much "alongside", which is interesting in and of itself.

Beyond the confines of the Ministry. I've already tossed the word vigilantism around in discussions with my brother and his wife.

I am beginning to think it is not misplaced. I had a similar discussion with Lucius earlier in the week.

Thus far we have the Prewetts and a Dorcas Meadowes, if I am recalling what Rodolphus and Bellatrix have individually shared with me. Now we have a potential vampire, and young Regulus said that he was also duelling with a civilian. Not to mention any number of civilians that ended up in duels with us at King's Cross. This strikes me as outside the boundaries of coincidence.

Mr Nott (can we pretend this was in a more timely manner?)

No terrible injuries. I did not recognise my opponent, but he was not DMLE.

I would like to work on being able to block or otherwise stand up to hexes. I was hit a couple times with a pummeling hex, and that caused the most injury.

Thank you, Persphone.

As you mentioned before, women are not expected to be as strong, but that does not mean we cannot work to your strengths. I am certain we can come up with something satisfactory.
