Before Christ Raina was born in the year 49BC in Egypt, Cairo to be exact. She grew up in the life of a peasant, never knowing what it would be like to be of any nobility. She grew up with the barbaric actions of those around her, and saw many she knew die of things as basic as the smallest of wounds. She grew up in a time of Gods and Pharohs, a time when your king or queen was as important as your Gods and Goddess's a time when walking in the hot sand, was just another day and you hoped the floods would come.

Raina was raised to be a hand maiden to the new Queen of Egypt. She grew up going into the markets, bartering was the way of her life. She never had expensive jewls, never wore the most important smelling perfumes and she knew she would never be mummified as so many dreamt of being. She wasn't from an important family. But when she was chosen to be one of the three hand maidens, she knew things had changed. She would have a pet, a beautiful cat. She named that kitten Isis, after the Goddess she worshiped daily. She would have riches and jewls. She would eat the best foods, and bathe in the best oils.

Just after she finished her training, she started her work she was taken. She was praying at a temple for the Goddess Isis one night when she was abducted and never seen again. No one knew what to say, she had always been so willing to be a maiden, she never made a fuss and never noise about being something else.

Raina awoke to a new life. She could see and hear things as never before. She didn't understand and spent the first few nights begging to return to her Queen. She knew her duty, her place and this wasn't it. She felt the hunger, the thrist over take her and that was the last of her begging for her Queen, she began to beg for the feeling to be taken away.

She spent the first 400 years of her life being taught how to be the perfect vampire, a killer. She was taught how to hunt, how to be ruthless and how to not be scene, or leave a trace. She was taught what it truly meant to be a true preditor.

Fifth through Eighth Century (400s - 700s) Her master could feel the power she was gaining as she aged and spent all of this time keeping it from her. She learned to make her own vampires, and left a wake of death and destruction behind her. Her master was proud of her, but he was also scared of her, for she was showing power he never dreamt of and he did all he could to keep her power under control.

Ninth Century (800s) Raina found herself in England, during the time of the Viking invasions. Her master was sure they would be able to learn a great deal from the Vikings, and taught her the art of their combat. She grew strong in the human fighting and learned how to survive without the use of vampire powers. She still had no idea what her true abilities would be, and thought she reached her peak.

Tenth and Eleventh Century (900s and 1000s) During these two centuries, Raina was beginning to feel what she could become. Her master was leaving her alone more and more, disappearing and returning after twenty or more years apart. It was during the end of the 11th century, that Raina was almost free of her master. During the first Crusade, her master was taken and held captive, the church thought he was the devil incarnate.

Twelveth Century (1100s) It was in this century, the Knights Templar found and killed her master. It was here that the Church felt that they could cure his demonic ways and sought to rebaptise him with the use of Holy Water. She was too late, when she felt his call for her aid. She came in time see her master being hung up for the sun to cure the darkness in his soul. She watched him burn in the sun, watched as the holy water ate away his skin, and watched as the cross he was hang on, burn his skin. It was now that Raina fled from the eastern most part of Europe, running to Japan.

Thirteenth and Fourteenth Century (1200s and 1300s) Raina found Japan to be more forward thinking that the whole of Europe she had been in. She spent over one hundred years exploring Asia before returning to Europe. While on her exploration of Asia and her return to the English Islands, Raina began to feel the whole of her power. She learned she could bespell humans and make them smile while she killed them. She could feel a power she never dreamt she had, and found she could call wild dogs. Wolves, actually. She found, during a cold winter that when she wanted to find something to eat, wolves helped her track humans. She found they obeyed her call, and they protected her.

Fifteenth Century (1400s) During this time, Raina found herself back in Romania. She came into a time when Dracul was ruling, and she felt the pull of this man. She knew he was powerful, and she wanted to change him. She wanted to make him one of hers and teach him. She changed him, 1447, was the day the world thought he died, and the day she pulled him into her life. He turned out to be too erratic, and it caused her to murder her own vampire. He didn’t last a full 50 years before she slaughtered him as he slaughtered his own people.

Sixteenth and Seventeenth Century (1500s and 1600s) Raina finally fled Europe, and went to explore the Colonies. She had no idea what to expect, and upon her arrival she started in the south and made her way to the north. It was the late 1600s before she found herself in Salem for the first time. There was when she met her first real and true witch. She remembered the witch trials of Europe and none of the witches had any power. Here, in this new colony she found power. She found a new kind of power, and she found that witches tasted different that normal humans. She enjoyed how it felt. She knew she would have to find witches again.

Eighteenth Century (1700s) Raina went back to Europe. It was this round in Europe where she found a villa in the South of France where she first met a shifter. She heard stories about shifters who were tied to the moon, and the ones that weren’t. She met a wolf, in the middle of the night, a wolf she called to herself. When she got the animal near her, she watched as it retook the form of a man and it was in that moment she understood what it meant to truly have an animal to call. She was at her power plateau, and she knew she couldn’t gain more, but she also learned an animal to call enhanced her power.

Nineteenth and Twentieth Century (1800s and 1900s) Raina stayed in Europe for the next two hundred years. She had no desire to move to the United States. She found the vampires she met from there were too modern. She didn’t agree with their modern style. She didn’t agree with feeding from animals, shifters tasted amazing, but normal animals really were beneath her. She lived by the old ways, she believed that staying hidden was the way to survive and that she should move around so that no one realized she truly did not age.

Twenty first Century (2000s) She got tired of Europe and decided to visit the United States once more. She moved to Salem, a place she hadn’t been in hundreds of years. She left her home, locked the door, set the alarm and took a night flight to Salem. She bought a home, a home with a dark basement where she could set up her room. She still died at dawn, but she tends to awaken before full dark. She feels this city and already she looks forward to the people and the beings she can come to experience. Maybe this will rival Europe for good.
