Eric Freeman ([info]efree) wrote,
Part of him, the part that had been beaten down recently, appreciated that Izzy didn't even acknowledge his trouble. It just made things so much easier that way, after all. She had a nice smile too, so that helped. He didn't know what kind of person Izzy was, but there was no better time than now to find out. He could chat her up a little bit, he supposed, and even if it didn't go anywhere else, he could at least feel decent knowing he'd had a conversation with a woman that wasn't work-related.

"Crown Royal, splash of coke." He answered, gesturing with his own glass. "Been my drink of choice as long as I've been drinking."

The last comment had a teasing, playful tone to it, something he didn't necessarily have to force, but that also didn't come as easy as it used to. She made that face as he spoke though and he wondered what she was thinking, then had his answer just as quickly.

"I uh... Yeah, wow you're good." He teased. "I do. I just moved in last week. You too?"
