“See, you are clearly far more sensible than me. I always mean to drink water but forget. A blistering hot shower, decent coffee and a bacon sandwich always seem to sort me out in the morning though” she shrugged before sinking the last of her second rum.
Raising an eyebrow at him as he mentioned his reason for moving into the area, a smile grew coyer by the moment. “Oh, you’re one of those former flyboys from up the road, are you?” she asked him, a hint of playfulness in her tone. “I’ve been repeatedly warned against you guys up at the base, growing up. At best you’re all a bunch of troublemakers from what I’ve been told”
Not that a small thing like that ever put her off, of course. Hell, if anything, it only made her run towards a lot of the guys on the base even quicker in her younger days.
Giving a smile of thanks to the bartender as he brought over new drinks for them both, he gave the guy a small nod before pushing Eric’s drink towards him.
