abilities.
Powers/Abilities: Isabelle's game is energy absorption, conversion, and redirection. She absorbs it on a cellular level, and can then aggregate and refocus the energy for alternate external release. Her primary energy sources in non-combat situations are electrical systems and generators, merely for the ease of access, though she can pull energy from living beings through skin to skin contact (and only energy, unlike her mother and brother.) During combat, she can absorb and convert energy blasts from other mutants, or absorb kinetic energy and redirect it to enhance her physical stature - primarily enhancing strength and speed. Once the energy has been used up, however, she reverts to normal human physicality. She does not have a limitless capacity for absorption; her body has a physical limit to the amount she can absorb and store and once it's reached, she has to release some of the energy or risk frying herself. She's also not immune to/can't reabsorb her own energy release - find a way to reflect her energy back on her and it'll hurt her just as much as anyone else.

Everything Isabelle absorbs is converted and released only in a particular red energy form - though similar in appearance to the biokinetic energy manipulated by her father, Isabelle's is most similar in composition to electricity. She can release anything from a small spark to a powerful, lethal surge, and create blasts or bolts with concussive force and lightning-like effects. She can also use it to overload electronics and electrical systems. However, the major drawback to her control over her energy abilities is that her body has since stopped producing energy on its own. Isabelle is reliant on nearby energy sources to replenish what she should be naturally generating. Though potentially harmful if not properly managed, it's particularly dangerous in combat situations. Should she drain herself too much without replenishment, she could slip into coma or die.
Level of Control: Of a necessity (and because her parents rode her hard in training when her abilities first manifested), Isabelle has exceptional control over her abilities. It's required - she's constantly monitoring her own energy levels to make sure she's operating within safe levels as well as to make sure she doesn't accidentally blow a fuse (or worse) in a moment of inattention. It's been a long time since she had an accident, but let's just say the Lebeau family always had extra lightbulbs on hand when she was younger and more prone to temper tantrums.
Skills/Talents: Speaks French and a smattering of Louisiana Creole. Skilled gymnast, traceuse, and martial artist (savate and krav maga). While not (yet?) a member of the Thieves' Guild, her lesser-known abilities at lockpicking, pickpocketing, sleight of hand, and general thievery are definitely nothing to sneeze at. She has quite the green thumb, and is frequently gardening as a way to wind down and de-stress.

the personality.
Given the complexity of their parents, is it any wonder the Lebeau children grew up to have such complicated personalities of their own? Isabelle is no exception; she has a sort of wild charisma that draws people to her even when she's not trying to charm them outright (and when she is, look out!) Passionate and temperamental, she has a deeply-rooted core of inner strength that underlies everything she does. Though she typically doesn't bother trying to hide what she's thinking or feeling, she wouldn't be her father's daughter if she didn't have an iron-clad poker face. She's quick to laugh, sharply intelligent with a wit that leans heavily to sarcasm, and full to bursting with self-confidence and sensuality.

Though quick to laugh, she's equally quick to anger. Her temper flares bright and hot, but burns itself out quickly, her buttons close to the surface and easy to push. She tends to lash out when she's angry, with little regard to the difference between friend or foe, and her friends know to stay clear until she's calmed down. Her mouth has a tendency to run away from her, however, and she's no stranger to getting herself in trouble. Get her angry enough and she'll be more than happy to finish the fight with fists rather than words.

One will find her stepping into the role of devil's advocate more often than not, whether from a desire to help find all the holes in a proposed plan or just because she's feeling perverse - but just because she takes a particular position doesn't mean she really backs it. She just really likes to argue sometimes. She's got a stubborn streak a mile wide and a hardheaded refusal to be intimidated, even when it might be smarter to be scared. Determined and focused, she's easily irritated at a lack of progress but channels that irritation into hard work until she gets it right.

Strengths: Naturally charming, intelligent, quick-witted, protective of those weaker than her.
Weaknesses: Stubborn as hell, easily angered, sometimes overly sarcastic, perfectionist, proud, not too fond of enclosed spaces. Hates elevators.
history.
The oldest girl of the Lebeau clan came with certain privileges - as well as certain drawbacks. An overly protective papa being one of them, leading little Isabelle to quite firmly buck ruffles and bows in favor of trailing along behind big brother Olivier and getting dirty. It became clear fairly early on that she was never going to be the little sweet-faced angel of the family - in fact, it was more surprising to find someone seriously thinking any product of Remy Lebeau and Anna Ravel to be a sweet-faced anything.

Isabelle was a rambunctious child, fearless and always in search of the next adventure. Born and raised in an old plantation home just outside the New Orleans city limits, she's fiercely proud of her heritage and the unique culture of her hometown. Her early childhood was peaceful, the first Lebeau daughter secure in the love and support of her parents. Like Olivier, Isabelle grew up in the shadow of her father's profession, absorbing their skillset and frequently getting herself into trouble over (mostly) harmless pranks. She adored her older brother, often found dogging his footsteps in hopes of being included in whatever it was he was doing. If Olivier was doing it, Isabelle wanted to be doing it, too.

Anna Raven's sudden demise came when Isabelle was at the tender (and touchy) age of twelve, the precocious child a few steps ahead of the curve and already testing her limits as a fledgling rebellious teenager. The loss of her mother rather abruptly curbed those tendencies; when her brother ran away, it left Isabelle feeling as though she ought to step up and fill the role left by the lack of both parental figure and oldest sibling. She was constantly pushing herself, pushing her father for more training, taking care of house and family to the best of her ability. She welcomed her brother back when he was finally persuaded to return, though she had difficulty working through the spurt of jealousy that he'd gotten to shirk responsibility - if even for a little bit - and temporarily escape the upheaval at home.

Unlike Olivier, Isabelle had to fight to convince her father to let her attend Xavier's School (aided by Raven Darkholme's conviction that they needed proper schooling), still following along in her brother's wake. She felt that it was also like following along in her mother's footsteps, and there was a measure of both satisfaction and sadness in the parallel. After graduation, she elected to stay on as a part of the X-Men, the decision a mixture of her own sense of responsibility to the greater good and a desire to be closer to both deceased mother and quite living brother.

Known Relatives: Remy Lebeau (father), Anna Raven (mother, DECEASED), Olivier Lebeau (brother), Jolene Lebeau (sister), Mason Lebeau(brother), Raven Darkholme (surrogate grandmother), Kurt Wagner (uncle), Amanda Wagner (aunt), Graydon Creed (uncle), Jean-Luc Lebeau (grandfather), Henri Lebeau (uncle, DECEASED), Mercy Lebeau (aunt).
