"It wouldn't surprise me," Edmund admitted, following her over. He watched her more than the paper as she opened it, eyes widening a little, curious as to what had her cheeks flushing.
He accepted the paper as she handed it to him and he blinked, reading it over again to make sure he had read it correctly. "Well. I suppose it's a good thing we're already courting," he teased lightly. "And that we didn't find somebody else here first. But I can't imagine what might happen for some of the others."
He looked down to Eliza. "Of course, we can wait here, if you'd rather. We have food, and surely they wouldn't make us wait forever.."
