28.
SEXUALITY.
Heterosexual.
GENDER.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION.
George is typically described as a handsome stranger by those upon meeting him for the first time. His youth, his manly beauty, his distinguished look and bearing, mean he is quick to win favours with new people. In fact, it has been commented that he is a man who has all the appearance of the ideal romantic hero, especially when he is wearing the uniform of Colonel Forster's militia, which adds a degree of prestige, especially among the women.
HISTORY
CHARACTER HISTORY.
George Wickham's Wiki
.
Having been stationed at Meryton for sometime, Wickham elects to take temporary leave from the Militia to attend Summerview House.
PERSONALITY.
CHARMISMATIC
Born partially out of a deep need to be liked by all that he meets, Wickham goes out of his way to be as charming as possible to all those that he meets. His exuberant behaviour, his easy smiles and self-depreciating sense of humour all assist in him making friends with all he meets. Knowing how fragile the status he has acquired is, he goes out of his way to endeavour not a bad word can be spoken about him, and that he is not caught carelessly making comments on others.
CONVERSATIONALIST
It has been said by strangers that Wickham displays a friendly manners and a happy readiness of conversation – a readiness at the same time perfectly correct and unassuming. He prides himself heavily on his ability to converse with all manner of people from a range of backgrounds and range of topics. As a result, he has learnt the importance of listening to others, and allowing them to speak. For, if there is one thing he has learnt of polite society, everyone seems more then pleased to speak about themselves non-stop, given the change.
OBSERVANT
Having spent such large quantities of his time being stood on the outside, looking in, Wickham sees a great importance in being observant. After all, the smallest gesture spotted between ‘friends’, a misspoken comment here and there, can all be carefully leveraged to elevate his status beyond that which it is now. Furthermore, watching and observing the traits and interests of those around him can be used to further endear himself to acquaintances, new and old.
IMMORAL
So far in Wickham’s life, there has not been, and he highly doubts will ever be, someone that he will prioritise above and beyond his own needs and wants. He believes to this day that he was done a disservice by Darcy who robbed him of what he believes to be his. As a result of this, he rather ruthlessly pursues the type of life that he wishes one day to have, and the type of women who might make this possible for him. As a result, he is not above attempting to ruin a woman in order to ensure proposals are accepted by their woman’s family. He is not above lying, cheating and stealing in order to achieve this.
VAIN
Perhaps it is a result of feeling as though he grew up in the shadow of Darcy during his childhood in Pemberley, but Wickham is an incredibly vain man. He is the type of person who despite his limited fortune endeavors to be seen in the right fashions of the day, at the correct parties, and in the company of equally fashionable. While he appreciates it might seem rather shallow, he believes firmly that all of these things come together to elevate his status.
SECRETS AND GOALS
Wickham unsurprisingly has a sizeable debt with various loan sharks, and is hoping to secure a wife with a fortune to pay them off before people come to call in his debts. These debts are not just due to gambling, but also money lost to a small number of frivilous and poor investments.
Despite his immoral reasons for encouraging Georgiana to elope with him, he did have a genuine affection for the girl. While he knows his chances of any sort of cordial relationship with her are non-existent at this point, he hopes to find a lady of equal calibre to wed one day.
For all of his airs and graces, Wickham is an incredibly insecure and vain man. He is well aware of his background, and the distinct disadvantage that this puts him at in the marriage market. It is part of the reason he goes out of his way to endear himself to as many people as possible.
ROMANTIC INFO
George is a man who often spends beyond his means and is not averse to running up sizable gambling debts. His ideal partner would be a monied individual, in receipt of a regular income to ensure that he lives the life he became accustomed with as a young boy with Darcy Snr. Of course, he would like a pretty face with a deal of prestige to go with this, but money is by far the priority.
