Personality

Upon first glance you may see a quiet and serious exterior. Bright eyes with a lot of pain behind them and far too few outlets to get all of the anger and rage out in a healthy way. Apollo likes to think he’s a cool, collective sensitive and creative type but he has a history of self-harm and has been known to let himself spiral into a deep depression from time to time. When he isn’t falling into oblivion, he’s a fairy happy and agreeable person.

For a long time he didn’t think he had much of a reason to live and that only helped to urge on those dark feelings. A heavy drinker, and playing hard into the rock and roll persona, Apollo has been known to close down the bar in town on more than one occasion or tuck himself into bed with his arm around Jack Daniels or Jim Beam (take your pick) when a little bit of extra comfort was needed. Most of that has abated now and a lot of it has to do with his husband, Dylan. Dylan is a bright sunspot in his dark world, the voice of reason when he has those days of feeling lower than the bottommost part of hell, and the one thing Apollo loves more than anything else in the world.

Because of his love for music, it’s not uncommon to see Apollo humming to himself or trying to work through a song stuck in his head, drumming out a beat on his workstation, or writing down lyrics in one of his many journals. The writing and playing helps to combat the low feelings and it fills him with a sense of purpose he might’ve otherwise lost.

Appearance

Apollo has brown hair he wears messy and in varying lengths depending on his mood. He’s often seen smoking like a chimney, drinking himself into a stupor, and trying to make sense of all the music trapped in his head. He has a few tattoos, one on a shoulder, one on his clavicle, and one on his neck, facial hair that he keeps as groomed as he can. His worth ethic is such that guitars and gear is the center part of his life and really the only thing he has to depend on. He stands at an average 5’9” and is ready to get into anything that might be even the most remotely dangerous. His demeanor is mostly sarcastic, devil may care, and he doesn’t care if he lives or dies. The people he cares about are different, he’d do anything for anyone and he has no preferences at all when it comes to who, if anyone, ends up in his bed - men, women - he loves everyone the same.

Apollo can see auras. They come in variations of colors depending on moods or intentions - he sees the hues radiating over people unless for some reason he is too tired or overwhelmed to correctly spot and discern certain emotions.

Unlike those who possess empathetic qualities, he lacks the literal feel of the emotions. Rather, they come to him as small visions. He can ignore them if he wants to, but knowing him, he would rather track down the source of a problem than run from it or let someone suffer in silence.

Strengths/Weaknesses: The auras aren’t always correct - Apollo predicts what emotion he can see based on experience with the certain hue, but because of the voracity and fluidity of human emotion the colors can change or blend into hues he isn’t familiar with thus potentially causing danger.

If he is tired, intoxicated, inebriated, distracted, ill, etc. all of these can greatly impact his being able to focus and read the specific aura.

History

The Scott family aren’t from anywhere unless you count a beat up old Studebaker full of junk and frail belongings as a type of place. If that’s the case, then he’s from the city where the engine doesn’t always fire without a string of kind words, the left quarter panel has a dent, and the bumper is kept together by the grace of God tangled up in old pieces of duct tape. His home rolled, choked, banged, and had no heat. He caught the view from old McDonald’s cups and eight track players, stinky socks, days old laundry. Maybe that’s where you really learned to live.

The Highway was a friend and an enemy, and you never needed a roadmap when you weren’t sure where you were calling home. He lived in that car with his mother, traveling the countryside. Now and then they’d scrape up enough cash to crash at a seedy, stinky dump that made their old automobile look like a palace. Apollo got to know instant coffee, pay-per-view television, and that his mother left one day and never came back. Since then he’d tumbled his way into jail for varying crimes, got his education in the back alley of a bar, and swore several times he’d never do that again - whatever that means.

Somehow he ended up in Texas.

That was five years ago, and after nearly dying in an accident that finally took the Studebaker to the great junkyard in the sky, Apollo swore he was finally going to start living clean. He got a job with the local auto body shop in town - no one else wanted it and he couldn’t seem to wrap his arms around sleep long enough to be useful - driving the tow truck and sometimes the snow plow. Apollo scraped up enough cash to put down a decent sized payment on a small house for rent.

He met a man named Dylan LaMarc and after a bit of dating, they ended up tying the knot. Apollo still has no idea how that even happened with the way his luck had been going. Eventually the two moved into a nicer home where they have a black cat named Orion.
