Riley let out a snort. "'Course." He said, sounding slightly more indignant as opposed to outright insulted. Almost at once his voice became more even, explanatory instead of accusatory, "We brought in a halfling who runs an independent consulting firm to assess the plan." In return, the disgraced half-shifter's son and shifter wife had been allowed back into the pack. Not the halfling himself, of course, but the son was strong and the wife was ugly but had good teeth, Riley was pleased to have them back in the fold. "He studied the water flow and showed us the best place to put it with the least effect on the forest - all we're doing is moving where the clover plants pop up. A few bird species will have interruptions in their nesting, but our elders are making preparations. We won't be using more water than usual, and the tributary will rejoin the river fairly quickly." He smiled. "Remember, vampire, we understand the earth better than you."
