Riley observed the vampire with his large golden eyes, his gaze full of intent, but not insistant on anything. He was watching and waiting for what Tao would do. The door closed and his ears perked instinctively. It felt like every cell in his body - and he did know what cells were, he had taken high school biology (equivalent) - was aware of Riley, Tao, and all the air between them. That space shrunk as Tao approached closer, and Riley resisted the urge to sit up.
The hand through his coat felt strange. It was very rare and almost unheard of for one shifter to touch another with a human hand while they were in animal form, unless they were extremely intimate. He supposed that this was as intimate as anything. Tao closed the collar around his neck and Riley let out a soft whine at the distinct sting of the silver nestled in the small of his throat. He shifted back into a 'play' bow, his shoulders pressed down to the ground. He let out a low whine, his forehead twitching.
