Riley resisted the tug of consciousness. He squeezed his eyes a little tighter and pulled closer to Tao's body, as if he could press inside the vampire and escape the morning. Slowly but surely he opened he awakened and he looked up at Tao with half-opened eyes. "Is it?" He mumbled, raising a hand to scratch the back of his head. He let out a soft groan and pushed himself up onto one elbow. "So," He muttered, "It wasn't a dream."
