tao_ ([info]tao_) wrote,
Tao would almost find it amusing. That the boy kept arguing, as if they lived under the same rules as humans. As if their lives were run by democracy. No matter if the vampires or shifters came out of the shadows to the human world, no matter if they did decide to obey human laws, there would always be their own laws. Their own system. And it was not democracy, and it was not kind and it was most certainly not up for debate. Was it fair that he was stuck at the bottom of the so called food chain because he was without a pack? Most likely not, but that was neither here nor there.

The scent of blood hit the back of his throat and while he maintained his composure it caused his nostrils to flare. Blood, was a weakness. He'd worked hard at it, most thought he refused to take blood, mark his prey, because he was too strong to need to. Just as he was never seen to use compulsion. It helped bolster his reputation and keep his position solid. However, Riley knew better. He knew it wasn't from ego, that it was a weakness he kept guarded for too long. Riley knew this, because of blood.

He tore his eyes from the scarlet drops and looked at Riley. "I could always compel him to obey." His eyes drifted back to the boy, caught his eyes. "You forgot the first rule already. We could take hours teaching you it, or, I could simply snap your little mind and force you to comply. I should warn you, you are totally aware the entire time, you will just be too weak to stop yourself from doing whatever I ask. And, I tend to ask a lot." He let his eyes darken, he pushed into the space between and found the boy's mind. Just pressing, looking for easy entrance.

"Do you remember the first rule, boy?"
