Tempest Tennyson |
In Character Info |
Name: Tempest Ainsley Tennyson DOB: January 1st, 1993 Sexuality: Bicurious Race: Muse Occupation: Student & Performer Physical Description: Tempest is short, only coming in at around 5'3". She's rather petite, but shapely. Her hair is such a dark shade of brown that it sometimes looks closer to black, but in the summer months, when she spends more time in the sun, the color lightens up quite a bit. She's even been known to wear it blond from time to time. Her eyes are hazel, more green than brown, and she tends to wear a rather smug look upon her face the vast majority of the time. Personality: Tempest is true to her name. Her personality is nothing short of stormy. She is incredibly charming, able to wrap most anyone around her finger. And at times, she can even be rather easy going. But then there are moments when she will bite your head off for looking at her the wrong way. She's in a constant state of ups and downs and prone to some pretty major tantrums when she doesn't get her way. She's always been that way and likely always will be, at least to some extent, though recent events have mellowed her considerably. Tempest is also an opportunist. She is driven, but not in the sense that one might expect. Her drive is in finding a means to putting herself in a position of great wealth and power. While her family is well to do on their own, it isn't enough for her. And what she'd really like to do is land a suitable husband in order to ensure that she never has to want for anything in her entire life. She has an extreme fear of being poor someday. At least this is what she tells herself. In actuality, her obsession with wealth and power is just a means of masking what she really fears; being alone. Having lost her mother at a young age certainly impacted her. And this was only heightened by her brother's disappearance. She has some major abandonment issues which only serve to further complicate her already complex personality. Background: In January of 1992, Adrien Ainsley Tennyson met the woman of his dreams. Her name was Angelique and she was absolutely beautiful. He was immediately enchanted by her. But there was one small problem. She was mere weeks away from taking her vows at the La maison du Saint Nunnery just outside of Paris, France. But Adrien was not a man that knew the meaning of the word no. He had been raised in the lap of luxury and wealth, educated at the best schools that money could buy, handed anything and everything he ever wanted, and he wanted Angelique. It would not take long before he would have her. In less than a year, not only would he make her his wife, but she would give birth to two beautiful children, fraternal twins, a boy and a girl, Tempest and Tybalt. But the Ainsley Tennyson's did not approve of Adrien's decision to wed a poor nobody. And certainly they would have disapproved even more so had anyone realized that Angelique wasn't exactly human. This put a lot of strain on their marriage and that, coupled with her longing for the life she had planned for herself, had led Angelique to the decision that she was going to leave. She never got the chance. Before she could make that leap, Angelique died in a horrific car accident. She never got to see her children again, nor did she ever have the chance to explain to either of them what she was and what they both could be as well. Adrien was devastated. So he took the children and moved back to the United States where his father's family was originally from and still lived. The sorrow over what had happened consumed Adrien. He felt guilty that his children would never know their mother. So in an effort to make up for it, he spoiled his children rotten, most especially his daughter. He gave her anything and everything she ever wanted. With Tybalt, it was a bit different. Though he was always kind to his son, he didn't feel the same burden of guilt when it came to him, because a boy didn't need a mother as much as a daughter did in his eyes, so he was never over indulged quite to the same extent as Tempest was. Because of this, Tybalt grew up to be rather well-adjusted and Tempest grew up to be a bit of a handful, though both children were held to high expectations as far as education was concerned. Tybalt was far more dedicated to his studies than his twin, Tempest caring more about being on stage than she did about her education. So when it came time to apply for university, it was no shock when Tybalt got into the Ainsley-Tennyson's school of choice, Loyola University, and Tempest did not. Adrien was so disappointed in his daughter. And even though she buckled down and did her best to graduate with as high of a GPA as possible, she didn't manage to get her grades up enough to get into Loyola even as a late admission. But education was incredibly important to her family, her father in particular, and he insisted that she go to college somewhere. Perhaps she could transfer to Loyola once she managed to get her grades up. There were several colleges that Tempest had done well enough to get accepted to, but only one that she even seriously considered. She didn't like it because it was a good school, per say, but because of the location. She wanted to go to University of Nevada in Las Vegas. Her father did not approve. He insisted that she enroll at Louisiana State instead and, since it was his dime paying for it, that's exactly what she did. Life took a drastic turn, however, in late 2012. Tempest's twin brother disappeared. It wasn't until his father was flagged that the emergency credit card had been being used that anyone realized something was going on and, by that time, he was long gone from the hotel he had been staying in and there was no sign of him anywhere. The family was devastated, most especially Tempest. She barely made it through the end of Fall semester before she dropped out of school to come home and help in the search for her brother. It's common knowledge that people who go missing in New Orleans are hardly ever found. And that was the case when it came to Tybalt. The family spent months and tons of money searching for him to no avail. But with his disappearance, something in Tempest changed. She grew up quite a bit because of it, no longer the petulant, spoiled child that she had been, a bit more serious and subdued. And it was this that prompted Adrien to make a decision that he hadn't thought he ever would. Because Adrien didn't want to lose his daughter as well, or watch as she lost the light that she had always seemed to have, he decided to surprise her by giving her early access to her trust fund and telling her that she could go to Las Vegas and attend UNLV with his blessing. So in May of 2013, she left for Sin City, having been granted admission to UNLV beginning in the Fall semester of 2013. The summer would give her time to settle in, to get established, to make friends. And though she chose not to tell her father, she decided shortly after arriving that she wanted to find a job performing on the strip. What he didn't know wouldn't hurt her. Now she just had to find a place that was the right fit. |
