• The prodigal son - Born the second child of three to a pureblood family, and the first daughter, Theia resented the fact her big brother was always more important. She played her good little pureblood daughter role from a young age, learning piano, singing for guests, but never missed how her brother was indulged more than his younger siblings.


• The true love - At Hogwarts she discovered her first true love. Potions. She was captivated from the start with the way things could combine to give such potent results. From her first year she was always experimenting, researching, trying to find all she could and recording them in her journal. Sometimes she even sold them, for the right price.


• The betrayal - When she finished school she found herself helping her mother plan events and parties, but what Theia really wanted was a bar. Her own bar where she could mix drinks AND potions. Her parents didn't think she should be taking that on, but when her brother suddenly wanted to open one... Oh, that was a different story. She hated him. When their parents said she could maybe let her help him set up for his parties or events 'if she simply must' it only made her more angry.


• The twist - When she was 22 her brother was arrested and interrogated for his connections to Voldemort and his role in the war. It should have been a terrible time, there were a lot of eyes on family, a lot of speculation and talk, but after weaving his tale about only doing what he did because he was under the cruciatus curse, her brother did her his biggest favour. Scared of what the other death eaters would do, he ran. The bar was signed to their father, and Theia reveled in watching her big brother lose everyone's respect.


• The new life - Despite her best efforts to help, her father's ownership of the bar did it no favours. Eventually it closed, but he never sold the property, and when his health was declining Theia consulted a very intelligent (and good looking) lawyer who helped her find a way to gain ownership upon his death. She turned 30 with no father, a bar of her own, and a new boyfriend who supported her. Just the way she liked things. The bar was reopened with a new name and Nyx, a high end cocktail bar, was born.

First Person. Inspiration can come from the strangest places. While my charming boyfriend has inspired one new drink for the menu at Nyx, I feel like my work is only beginning. What would you like to see join our menu? Any favourite spirits you would like to see involved?
