ME TOO. I am so very amused by the postcard banter! I just hope I've got the balance right between him being a bit off-the-wall but still a good wizard. His attitude is far less ridiculous when he's on a case (I HOPE).
Okay, so, let's do the play dates thing. Perhaps her grandparents wanted it to be an Amelia/Dorcas play date but his parents (who had/have no patience for him), tagged him on to get him out of their hair for a few hours. I need them breaking ice-sculptures together. At all these events, he used to run around and talk incessantly (not much has changed as he has to go running each morning otherwise he's restless all day).
I LOVE THIS DYNAMIC. He clearly is drawn to female characters with his relationship with Amelia and Marlene. I'm still trying to work out his ability to give advice. In the recent Marlene thread, he's being somewhat oblivious (but that's mainly because he doesn't want to think there's the possibility of another wall). I think if she started talking about emotions, he'd listen and give his opinion (which may or may not make sense) but then try his best to lighten the subject. Edgar does not talk about his emotions. Ever. I'm looking forward to that finally combusting at some point and him just spewing his guts to someone. He's very much struggling with the fall out from his career.
During the war, perhaps there was a really close call on his end and he was injured (nothing too terrible) but he refused to go to St. Mungo's because he knew it would be chaotic and there were more people in need? Called her, she fixed him up, they got hammered and things escalated? I honestly think they might have laughed their way through it and I'm so down with him having trouble getting up with the booze and more comedy there. He got the job done in the end, HE SAYS OKAY. PS WE MUST WRITE THIS.
SO DORKY FRIENDSHIP WITH A ONE TIME FLING THAT THEY STILL LAUGH ABOUT TO THIS DAY?
