PERSONALITY Who's gonna walk you through the dark side of the morning? Who's gonna rock you when the sun won't let you sleep? Slytherins are known for being ambitious, so you can't blame people for raising a few brows at the hat's choice for Evan. Evan never really cared much for education, and he had a tendency to just scrape by with minimal effort. He did what he needed to do, showed up every day for class, but his school work was never especially impressive. He just didn't have the interest in it to make any serious effort, and that kind of lack luster performance is common for him in things he doesn't care much for. He does what he absolutely has to do, but he is perfectly capable of scraping by with the bare minimum if it's possible. As he grew older, however, it became obvious that he did have a serious passion for quidditch. He wanted to play professionally, and since he was never exceptionally talented academically, he put all his eggs into the quidditch basket. He doesn't joke around when it comes to the sport, and he is very dedicated to it. He shapes his life around it, diet, exercise, practice, fan base. He has high ambitions to become the next Viktor Krum. He wants his face on a poster on every kid's wall. He wants to be the best of the best. Evan' biggest fault is that he is undeniably selfish. He knows what he wants, and he does what he has to in order to get it. It takes a lot of patience to deal with his flaws. He has thrown people under the bus to get himself out of trouble more than once (missing a quidditch match was just out of the question, obviously). And although he has never been particularly careful with his money, as he has plenty of it, he is much more stingy with his time, attention, and affection. He expects people to be there for him when he needs them but puts his own priorities before most others. He tries to keep people satisfied with gifts rather than actually putting in the time and work into relationships, which might explain his complete lack of a serious girlfriend. If people can put up with him and manage to get under his skin, however they become very important to him. He is extremely loyal to those who count, and he goes above and beyond. He is, for example, extremely close with his baby sisters. He treats the twins like gold, and is every bit the intimidating older brother when it comes to Fi and Isla. Even with his close friends, though, expect a bit of a bumpy ride. He's not one to come running and your beck and call- but he can surely pay someone else enough to. STRENGTHS: physically fit, charming, good sense of humor, good in leadership roles and at making difficult, unbiased decisions WEAKNESSES: committment-phobic, selfish, arrogant, obsessive LIKES: quidditch, girls with long legs, being right, his twin sisters DISLIKES: Muggles, his mother and her 'boyfriend', being compared to his older brother
BIOGRAPHY Who's waking up to drive you home when you're drunk and all alone? Who's gonna walk you through the dark side of the morning? Evan was born at the end of a very rainy April, joining his older brother, Callum, who was three at the time. The family had no shortage of money. Although his mother made a sizeable salary working as a healer, his father carried most of the monetary support for the family as a financier. Evan grew up in a nice house with nice clothes and wanted for very little. In fact, his family life was ideal in his eyes until it all suddenly fell apart. When Evan was eleven, his mother revealed that he had been engaged in a long-standing affair with a Muggle man and that he was leaving their father. A messy custody battle followed, and the Urquhart children ended up with their father. They were allowed to spend most of their time at their father's home, only having to engage in strained visits to their mother for holidays. These visits became increasingly tense as Evan and his siblings grew, and Evan developed a stinging dislike for the man who had ripped apart his family, and by proxy, all of the Muggle world that went along with her. Evan' older brother was sorted into Ravenclaw and was an excellent student. When Evan joined three years later it became apparent that he had little intention of following in his footsteps. Evan found he was lacking interest in the majority of his studies, though he did take a shine to wand work such as charms and transfiguration, and he managed to do decently in those subjects. He found the social aspects of school much more interesting, and in his second year, he found his true love when he scored a spot on the Slytherin quidditch team. He started off as a not half bad reserve, then moved up to a starting position the following year. As the years progressed, he realized he had a serious knack for the sport. He began sticking around practices after the rest of the team had left, and took it upon himself to add his own workout regimen to get himself more in shape and to become a stronger player. In his fifth year, talk of OWLs and the importance of school rolled off his back for the most part. He had already decided that he wanted to be a professional quidditch player, and that meant he had to impress on the field much more than he had to in the class room. Of course, he still had to make it through and on to his NEWTs, so he focused on his strengths, and scraped by in other subjects. He was named quidditch captain in his sixth year, much to his glee. Although he had no interest in leadership roles in clubs or, Merlin forbid, as prefect, quidditch was a different beast. He took to the role well, and maintained it for his seventh year. After graduation, things were tense in the wizarding world, war loomed on the horizon, but he pushed onward with quidditch as if it weren't. He landed a slot on the Wimbourne Wasps, and he has been playing for them ever since. When the war came to a close, Evan was, to be perfectly honest, nonplussed. Although his dislike of Muggles may have steered him toward supporting Voldemort and the Death Eaters, neither he nor his family were committed enough to actually fight for it. As the balance began to shift and Rabastan Lestrange was elected, he was surprised, but unworried. As a pureblood, he had little concerns about a Lestrange in power, and as far as he's concerned, if quidditch isn't affected, he isn't affected. In order to save up money for his dream house (obnxiously large and lavish, of course), he has opted to continue living at his father's manor. The home is sizeable enough to maintain his privacy, and he doesn't mind running into his family. Things have taken a turn for the more interesting, however, with his father's decision to take in a disciple. He's not sure how he feels about it, but he certainly isn't arguing.
PLOT IDEAS It ain't me No, it ain't me - Quidditch! - Dealing with the disciple. I would love some awkward interactions and him being forced to admit what the program really entails especially if there are some darker themes with how his dad treats said disciple - I would love for someone to pick up his family members, especially if they feel strongly one way or the other to create some tension. Could also work in the context of friends (especially since he has so few GOOD friends- it might put some pressure on him).
