“Brian?”

“Hmm?”

“What did you mean earlier? About us not seeing each other ever again? You can't really think that?”

He lifts his face from where it's been buried against my neck for the past ten minutes. He looks sad.

“Whatever it takes, Justin. Like you said, we don't need the rings or vows. We don't need the wedding.”

“It wouldn't have been so terrible though, right?”

“Well, I did look exceptionally dashing in my tux; shame no one got to see it.” A beat later. “You looked all right, too.”

I laugh. “Shut up. I looked beautiful, or so I was told.”

“It seems there is one thing I do need. For you to be happy.”

He touches my smile with his fingertip.

“Brian.” I pull his hand from my mouth, hold it tight.

“What?”

“I have loved you since I was seventeen years old. I never stopped loving you, not even when we were apart, and I'm not going to stop loving you, so you had better come and visit me. A lot. That's what I need to make me happy. You got that?”

He looks relieved, but tries to hide it. “Bossy bottom,” he murmurs, rubbing his nose against my cheek before settling back down against me.

I run my hand along the long expanse of his back. Memorizing the feel of his smooth skin, knowing I'll have to do without it, for a little while at least.

Brian dozes off and I glance at the clock. I'd better get moving. I lift Brian's arm and slide out from under him. He doesn't wake up.

I find my clothes scattered on the living room floor and pull them on. Our rings sit on the coffee table.

My laptop is packed away but I take it out and open my graphics program and a few folders.

It's not my greatest artistic achievement, but in a few minutes I've made a pretty nice wedding invitation.

I print it out, fold it in half, and on the inside I write, "Anytime. Anywhere."

I leave it by the bed, kiss Brian's cheek, pick up my bags and head out.

That was beautiful! I don't think I've ever read a fic that takes place during that scene.

I print it out, fold it in half, and on the inside I write, "Anytime. Anywhere."

I love it here too!

And my favorite line is *still* when Brian needs Justin to be happy.

God, that's just...so good.

Thanks Tweedy! I must give kudos to Xie for that line... she turned my three lines into one that said it all so much better. She rocks!

There's such a quiet beauty to this. Like living in a sigh.
