Every genuine boy is a rebel and an anarch. If he were allowed to develop according to his own instincts, his own inclinations, society would undergo such a radical transformation as to make the adult revolutionary cower and cringe. John Andrew Holmes FULL NAME: Sirius Orion Black NICKNAMES: Padfoot, Dr. Sexy. NEVER Siri, on pain of death. BIRTH DATE & AGE: 27, October 4th 1959 BLOODLINE: Pure SEXUALITY: Sirius doesn’t believe in sexuality. Far too limiting. HOUSE: Gryffindor FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS: Mother: Walburga Black. Father: Orion Black.. Siblings: Regulus Black. Extended Family If you’re pureblood then you’re probably related. Siriusly, the Blacks are connected to pretty much every well-to-do family in the Wizarding World, and a few less well-to-do that they pretend don’t exist. Sirius pretty much just tries to stay out of their way. The only members of his family he ever got along with are his cousin Andromeda and his Uncle Alphard. MARITAL STATUS: Single OCCUPATION: Owner of The Marauder’s Den, a soon to be opened Nightclub. OCCUPATIONAL HISTORY: Gentleman of Leisure History. How does it feel To be without a home Like a complete unknown Like a rolling stone? Childhood: Sirius didn’t begin his life as a rebel. When he was young he was the apple of his mother’s eye and the very model of a pure blood gentleman. As he got older, however, he began to question the deeply held beliefs of his family. It was not an easy childhood, there were many expectations of a young heir, but it was also a relatively happy one. He was pampered, spoiled, a loved as far as his parents were able to love. The one thing he had very little of was freedom, and even as a child that chafed at him. He was a bit of a wild thing, and didn’t want to listen to the hordes of nannies and housekeepers that were responsible for his upbringing. His mother was a presence in his life, but he could never quite get a read on her. When she was pleased she showered him with her own brand of affection and approval, but if he set even one toe out of line she would fly off the handle. She not physically abusive when he was young, but her words lashed like barbed wire and Sirius took every harsh criticism to heart. His father might as well have not existed for how often Sirius saw him. He and Regulus were quite close growing up. They were close in age, and Sirius considered his brother to be his best and only friend. He would constantly lead the younger boy into trouble, but he was just as quick to throw himself in the way of any punishment he might get for it. Schooling: Hogwarts was the real turning point in Sirius’ life. By the time he reached school age Sirius had changed from a pliant, accepting child into a rebellious, angry youth. He hated the way his family was run, the strict rules of his mother and his father’s indifference. The problem was that he didn’t know what to do about it. He didn’t realize there was another way to live, a better way. Hogwarts changed that. When he was sorted into Gryffindor it was just another form of rebellion. He didn’t expect to like his roommates any more than he had liked his cousins. He was wrong. James, Peter and Remus opened up a new world for him, a world of friendship and mischief and brotherhood. He thrived in Gryffindor, becoming one of the most popular boys in school. Going home was a trial, as every year he grew farther and farther away from what his family wanted from him. He took his pleasure in petty little revenges and welcomed the punishment he knew he would get. Becoming Animagus for Remus was another turning point for Sirius. Padfoot gave him a place to escape when things weighed too heavily on him. He spent a lot of his holidays locked in his room as a dog. He maintained that it kept him from going mad. School itself was a joy, and while he’d never admit it, he loved his classes and studies. He never really had to try hard to do well and always enjoyed the angry looks from his studious classmates. Pulling pranks with the Marauders and Full Moon exploration made those seven years the best of his life. Sirius made the biggest mistake of his life when he sent Snape down to the Willow. He had always been too easily goaded, especially by Snape, and he had a tendency not to think things all the way through. So a heated argument led to a betrayal. He didn’t see it that way at the time, it seemed like a harmless way to scare the shit out of Snape for the things he said. It was only when he told James that he realized the enormity of what he had done. Thankfully James saved Snape in the end, but this is still something Sirius feels insanely guilty for. He didn’t expect his friends to ever forgive him, and is still unsure as to why they did. Sirius was disowned over the summer before 6th year. He had been pushing the boundaries of what his family would tolerate for years, and his mother finally snapped. Sirus was caught out in muggle London snogging muggle girls at a seedy nightclub. He had done it before, and showed absolutely no remorse when he was dragged in front of his furious mother. She railed at him, calling him every name in the book and hurling her favorite little hexes. Usually Sirius would scream back in these situations, and he and Walburga would shake the house with their fury until Sirius was eventually locked in his room for the rest of the holiday. But this time Sirius did something unexpected. This time he burst into laughter. The image of his tiny mother shrieking and wailing was suddenly the most tragically hilarious thing he ever saw, and he was unable to do anything but laugh helplessly at her ever increasing rage. She eventually lost complete control, turning the cruciatus curse on him simply to get him to shut up. Sirius was blasted off the tapestry that day, and the word traitor will be carved into his chest until the day he dies. He arrived on James Potter's front steps bloody and sobbing, and his friend took him in. They never talked about what brought him there that night, which Sirius will always be grateful for. He lived with the Potters for the rest of his time at Hogwarts,. Adult Life Sirius’ Uncle Alphard died and left him a not inconsiderable fortune. Sirius bought himself a little flat in London and dedicated the rest of his time to the Order. He saw the war against Voldemort as a deeply personal thing, especially after he heard Regulus was a Death Eater. They had grown apart while they were at school, Sirius had wanted Reg to side with him against their parents and had been bitter that he never did. But despite that fact he had never stopped loving the kid, and hoped that one day they could make it up. Finding out he had chosen Voldemort made Sirius’ blood run cold, and he’d been volatile for months afterwards. He threw himself into the fight with every fiber of his being and took what seemed like utterly senseless risks. They got results though, that could never be denied. He stayed close to James, Remus, and Peter. It took him a while to really warm up to Lily, but soon she was just as important to him as his other friends were. He was best man at her wedding to James, and loved her like the sister he never had. When he found out about Harry he was almost as excited as James, and immediately set about buying every toy in the universe. After Harry was born he was a loving, dedicated Godfather and had a bad habit of just showing up on the Potters doorstep with sweets and books and presents for the little boy. Regulus’ supposed death hit Sirius hard. Even after everything he had still held out hope that he could somehow save the kid, and losing him was devastating. He tried to pretend he wasn’t affected, but it was obvious to everyone who knew him that he was badly hurting. He released his feelings the way he always did, with too much drink and too many fights and the soft skin of nameless muggle boys. Sirius was the obvious choice for Secret Keeper when the Potters needed protection, so of course he and James knew he couldn’t be the one to do it. They thought they were so clever, choosing Peter. Sirius expected the Death Eaters to come after his immediately and was ready to withstand anything to protect the little family. When he heard about Peter’s betrayal it was like a stab in the gut. He was furious that Peter could turn on them like that, but also genuinely grieved that he was dead. He also couldn’t truly be angry at him, because Lily and James and Harry were still alive, and Sirius would be forever grateful for that. After the war Sirius felt a little lost. He had wrapped so much of his identity in fighting against things. First his family, then Voldemort. Now there was nothing to fight, and Sirius didn’t really know who he was without that anchor. He floated around for a few years, wasting his money and moping at his friends when he got too bored. He continued his string of short relationships, but never found anyone he wanted to commit to. He actively avoided “growing up”, as it were. When his parents died Sirius suddenly found himself the sole heir to the Black fortune. He didn’t want the money or the horrible house, it should have been Regulus’ and he had still not gotten over his brother's death. He took it, because there was no other choice, but he never set foot in Number 12 Grimauld Place. Last year he found something that finally captured his attention. It was a large nightclub on the outskirts of London that had been abandoned for years. It was a horrible dump and Sirius adored it the moment he walked through it’s crumbling doors. He got a muggle solicitor to make the purchase for him, then staged it’s demolition. In truth he made it unplottable and put tons of anti-muggle charms on it before he set up a portkey storefront in Diagon Alley. He spent the rest of the year remodeling and revamping the place, and the doors of the Marauder's Den will open sometime in the next month. Personal Details. Well maybe I’m a little rough around the edges, or inside a little hollow, I get faced with some things sometimes, that are so hard to swallow. Appearance Likes: Leather, Chrome, David Bowie, Dancing, Pranks, The Marauders, Zucchini, Rain, Flying, Sex, Books (shh, don't tell anyone), Soul Train. Dislikes:Porridge, Biggots, Slytherins (same thing as Biggots really...), Getting Up Early, Disco, Fighting With His Mates, People He Loves Getting Hurt, Cardiff, Tapioca. Strengths: 1. Loyalty - Sirius is loyal to a fault. It's why he regards betrayal the highest form of insult. 2. Courage - Who really looks before they leap anyway? 3. Optimistic - Except for those occasions that we all have where we think the world is total shite, deep down, even after what he's been through, Sirius tends to see things from a very romantic point of view. He hides it well under a cynical exterior Weaknesses: 1. Judgmental - The cover of the book is the first thing you see after all. 2. Cruel - He has a capacity for cruelty that quite frankly scares him. Biting insults are one thing. Nearly sending a fellow student to his death.... 3. Secretive - Instead of addressing his problems, he let's them fester. Special Talents Everything. Obviously. Well, if you ask him anyway. He makes a great cocktail, sings and dances surprisingly well, and can tie a cherry stem in a knot with his tongue. He is creative when it comes to magic and can work his way around a good many logical conundrums by simply doing something stupid. . General: Sirius spends a good deal of time cultivating an air of ignorant bliss. He’s the life of any party and, if taken purely at face value, the most black and white person in England. When he's happy he's happy, if you insult him he'll hit you, and he's never, ever, sad or frightened. Ever. Behind the mask he’s actually quite sensitive and a bit of a romantic. He also has a very low self esteem, something he goes to great lengths to cover up. Though he can sometimes be an arrogant prat, he usually means well. He's fiercely loyal to his friends and is the first to come to their defense, even if he knows they're wrong. He tries his best to be a good person, even if he occasionally buggers it all up. All he really wants is to prove that not all Blacks are the same. The only people he’s ever really let in are the Marauders and Lily. With them he can occasionally let go and admit to his fears. Not often, but enough that he doesn’t explode. You’ve got your mother in a whirl, she’s not sure if you’re a boy or you’re a girl. What is your greatest fear? Turning out exactly like the rest of my family. Sometimes I think things, or do things, and I know that I’m no different. No, I’m worse than they are, because I pretend to be one of the good guys. What is the trait you most deplore in others? Blind Acceptance. Anyone who uses blood or fate as an excuse is the worst kind of human being. Birth and circumstance don’t determine what kind of human being you are, you have to do that for yourself. Do you have any interesting habits? If so, please list them. I have to wash my hands four times after using the loo. It’s one of the few things I can’t get rid of from my childhood, but when I don’t do it I feel dirty all day. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? I would be more thoughtful. It’s always when I don’t think that the really bad stuff happens. What is your greatest achievement? Becoming Animagus for Remus. No contest. What are your greatest regrets? Sending Snape to the Willow. Definitely the stupidest thing I’ve ever done. Not making it up with Reg before he died. Not saving Peter from himself. out of character. OOC STUFFS OOC STUFFS OOC STUFFS. NAME: Sasha E-MAIL: sasha.bms@gmail.com TIME ZONE: Pacific Blurb Womanizer, Maninizer, and utter useless pillock.
