ABOUT
David is something of an enigma, he keeps most people at arm’s length and tends not to get too involved if he can avoid it. The world is happening around him and he’s just existing in it, right now at least.
FIRST IMPRESSION
He’s a hard one to get a read on because he is so… detached and withdrawn, it makes an accurate first impression very difficult and even harder to work out if you’ve got it right. On the whole, though David is very shrewd, careful about what he says or does, and knows more than anyone else that first impressions last so he has been known to adjust his approach to individuals or situations so it’s entirely feasible and possible for one person to think one thing of him and another person think something completely different.
APPEARANCE
Whilst not built like a brick house David has height to his advantage and he is athletic drawing strength not necessarily from bulging muscles but more in his keeping fit and on top of his different disciplines as well as being vampiric in nature. He leans towards dark and muted colours and prefers simplicity over garish and over-the-top apparel because at some point it’s going to get dirty or bloody it’s just the nature of what he does.
Like most hunters, he has scars and calluses but he wears them like he would a badge of honour, reflecting all the work he’s put into his craft and the times where he could have died, but didn’t. He now no longer scars as you would expect so the traces and reminders he has from his time being human are welcomed and helpful in keeping him sane.
He normally keeps his hair short, closely cropped, generally tends to be either clean-shaven or has some facial hair but not a lot, and whilst he might not always care about his appearance anything he has on his person in the way of weaponry is always kept in the best condition possible. His blades in particular are his pride and joy followed in short succession by his guns.

David is for the most part the sort of person who prefers his own company over that of others and doesn't feel any overwhelming need to be surrounded by people especially as limited patience and a direct way of handling situations can at times mean he is perceived as abrupt and at times abrasive. It's not that he means to be, it's just that he'd rather just cut to the chase than waste time on things that don't matter.
He's intelligent, articulate, and lethal with a blade, but possesses the ability to cut somebody down with his words alone. Perhaps it's because of the way he sits back and observes, gathering information, and filing it away for a later date when it might be useful. Suspicious and innately mistrusting lends itself well to his hunting now rebel career as he's hard to fool, even harder to shake off, and he doesn't let his walls down easily.
David tends to draw a lot of his power and his strength from anger, anger fuelled by the death of his family. Not that the anger clouds his judgment, far from it in fact, if anything he uses it as a weapon, to drive himself and also put the fear of anything that people worship or hold as an idol in all those he's sent after. He's as articulate as he is cunning, direct as he is aggressive and he has little time for games or the time wasted trying to get sense out of an idiot. If you want a job done well, quickly, quietly, and efficiently then David is the one you should send He's stubborn and honestly like a dog with a bone once he has his sights set, would take some sort of miracle to keep him from his conquest.
He does not trust easily, it takes a while to get that from him, and even longer for you to be respected by him. It's all about doing what you say and leading by example which of course might seem a little rich given that David prides himself on never being what anybody expects him to be. It's better to be unpredictable, safer that way, and never boring. Maybe it's a leftover from his upbringing but David is firm in the belief that you are only useful if you have something to give or some sort of skill which means he makes it his business to always be learning new information and to never be obsolete.
He's hardworking, stubborn, and dedicated meaning that once he sets his mind to something he's a distinct force to be reckoned with.

HISTORY
David was born into a family whose hunter legacy stretched back generations. As the eldest it was expected that he would follow in the footsteps of his ancestors, both on his mother’s side and his father’s. He was trained to be able to do what he needed to do with a focus on martial arts, physical fitness, and in particular swordsmanship and marksmanship.
He was 13 when the first supernatural stepped forward declaring to the world that they were there, that they existed, and that they wanted their slice of the pie. Obviously this went down like a lead balloon and then the war began. His family was immediately drafted to fight and fight they did right up until the point that all was lost at which point they registered if not to only look like they were onboard with the changes but the truth was they'd done no such thing and remained secretly against everything.
Much to his family's dismay he decided at age 17 that he was going to join the military. Not just any branch of the military but the Marines because it wasn't like David didn't like a challenge and didn't want to push himself in all the ways he knew he'd get the most out of it. In order to be come an Enlisted Marine David had to meet the highest standards of moral, mental and physical strength as well as completing an aptitude test, passing an initial strength test (IST) and meeting certain eligibility requirements (i.e. being at least 17 years old at time of enlistment, not have reached 29th birthday upon start of recruit training, legal residency, pass a physical examination, high school diploma & must attend and graduate recruit training) followed by 13 demanding weeks of recruit training which ultimately determined that he was in fact capable of becoming a Marine.
After that it was the School of Infantry and once that was complete his career with the Marines began in Combat Infantry which had the primary goal of seizing and controlling terrain, his job and the job of the others around him? Close on and defeat enemy combatants. He operated as part of a fire team and hand-to-hand combat was a specialty as was the handling of all sorts of firearms and vehicles. David served with the Marines from the age of 17 up until he turned 23 when something went wrong in the field. They were deep in Afghanistan providing support and cover for a deployment of aid workers into a local village when their envoy was ambushed by militants who were fighting against what they saw as the invasion of their country by the United States.
For David, things were more than a little blurry given that he was in the front car that was struck by the first rocket and it not only flipped in the air but did so when it hit the ground until it landed in a crumpled mess but more importantly on David from the waist down. He was effectively trapped and pinned under the vehicle while utter anarchy erupted around him as his remaining troops tried to hold the militants back until backup could arrive. David to his shame to this day was unable to do much of anything except focus on staying awake for as long as possible until he finally succumbed just as their rescue arrived.
In total his squad lost 4 men and 2 of the aid workers but the rest managed to escape with their lives. After getting home and healing up, David was subsequently honorably discharged, thanked for his service, and sent on his way. It was hard, really hard, he'd spent so many years being a Marine that to snap back into civilian life was a challenge. Thankfully he had his family and friends to help him transition but there were some things they just couldn't understand and one of those things was a distinct feeling of loss, of not having a purpose any longer and it could have been so easy to turn to drink or other unhealthy means of working that shit out of his system. He didn't, but what he did do was find physical ways of letting things out such as boxing, exercising, and doing whatever he could in order to channel that pent-up frustation into something productive.

For David it was getting involved with the family business.
For the next few years he became an active figure on the hunting circuit where he met another hunter by the name of Tadgh Lochlann who had experienced a loss like no other and over the years they bonded until they were good friends and a lethal combination in the field
At some point though Tadgh went off to do his own thing and David remained where he was, helping continue the family business and things were going well or so they thought. Little did they know but their activity as hunters was just about to come back around to bite them, metaphorically.
Of course, vampires being vampires were not the ones to do the dirty work. No, they sent Fae. Heavily armed and well-trained Fae to do their dirty work. In a blink of an eye, his family was completely obliterated, totally annihilated. He didn't find this out until he came face to face with the devastation after receiving a voicemail from his father.
David having been raised in a hunting family all his life was well versed and educated in both strengths and weaknesses of different supernatural meaning that he made the smart choice of raiding the family armory to secure himself weapons but more importantly grenades filled with pure iron nitrate gas and shards that on impact would release the gas and expel the shards violently outwards rendering the last two remaining Fae poisoned and weak allowing David the advantage.
In that moment David struck down the first only then to get sliced across the right eye, nearly blinding him, however, the iron was still doing its work meaning he was able to take down the last Fae at no small cost to his own life. Severely and mortally wounded he was set upon by an older Vampire, one that had not approved of the actions taken against the T’ien family, and against all advice and good sense the vampire turned David.
In what was a whirlwind David’s life changed in an instant, he was whisked away from everything and everyone he knew. It was the last time he saw his Sire (and he still to this date doesn’t know what happened to them) but his fate was imprisonment which did nothing to foster a fondness for vampires in the slightest. Not just a few months, more like several years where the only way he found to stay sane was to step outside of the situation, meditate, and let the thought of getting
Five years passed before David was finally released with an agreement that he would check in every month for the first year of his “freedom” which he did much to his chagrin until eventually he was fully released meaning he could vanish to pursue the killers of his family.
"To survive myself I forged you like a weapon, like an arrow in my bow, a stone in my sling. But the hour of vengeance falls, and I love you."
The years that followed were awash with violence, bloodshed, and all manner of things that in many ways stripped David of his humanity but as lost as he was he retained his sense of purpose: to seek vengeance and obtain justice for his family even if it meant by the way of a thousand small cuts.
Of course, any Vampire or Fae that he came across was in many ways subject to unfair judgment and innocent until proven guilty had no meaning to David. They were all the same or at least that was what his loss had caused him to think, not a single one of their kind could or should be trusted regardless of their declarations otherwise.
He was brutal, efficient, and at times borderline crazy.
Did he ever consider his own safety? Never, not once, the end result was what mattered and he was dead anyways so what was the point? He had nothing left.
And just when David was certain he had a bead on the people responsible for ordering the massacre of his family the city was torn apart and he was effectively stranded in a territory later dubbed Aesir’s territory which after having watched for the last few months David decided was not where he wanted to be.
He’d tracked down a contact that might know something or at least give him a lead in another area of the city with a place called Sanctum at the heart of it and with his mind set he made the arduous journey to reach that place where sure enough there was no law and order, the only real power being that of The Rebels who apparently stood against Vampires and other supernaturals looking to own and oppress.
David gave them a wide berth, he had no intentions of interrupting their work, and he hoped the same would be said for them and his work.
Of course, David being David made his presence known by hunting and killing as many creatures that might mean him or others harm. Not because he was a “good guy” but more because he hadn’t been able to save his family, but he could at least help others.
What he didn’t account for was The Rebels thinking he was a danger (given his fangy nature) and setting up a trap to catch him which they did and he is currently being held for interrogation or whatever it is they're looking to do, he could have helped himself, but he didn’t, preferring to remain silent.
What will be will be.
David’s only hope is that he won’t have to murder them to get back to his mission.

ABILITIES & SKILLS
VAMPIRE ABILITIES
» Powers: Enhanced speed, strength and senses. Gained mental capabilities; all vampires can compel humans to obey them.
» Weaknesses: Allergic to the sunlight. Exposure to the sun will cause burns, blisters and eventually combustion. Only the very powerful can tolerate direct sunlight and even then it’s only very short periods of time. Beheading will kill a vampire as will wooden stake to the heart.

PARKOUR
» This is a training discipline using movement that developed from military obstacle course training. Practitioners, called tracers or traceurs, aim to get from one point to another in a complex environment, without assistive equipment and in the fastest and most efficient way possible. Parkour includes running, climbing, swinging, vaulting, jumping, plyometrics, rolling, quadrupedal movement (crawling) and other movements as deemed most suitable for the situation (not to be confused with freerunning). Parkour's development from military training gives it some aspects of a non-combative martial art. It involves seeing one's environment in a new way, and imagining the potential for navigating it by movement around, across, through, over, and under its features.
KNIFE HANDLING
» David has a remarkable aptitude for the ways of bladed weapons, knives in particular, he is able to wield them with great proficiency and cunning as well as stealth; concealing multiple knives on his person flawlessly, to be retrieved at will in combat. This allows him to employ a rich varied fighting style: switching between any number of exotic types of knife mid-battle to hack, jab, hook, or otherwise harm a target. He is also able to pull off trick moves, misdirection, and feints to add to his abilities in combat as well as for the purposes of display.
Due to extensive training, he is capable of targeting and exploiting an opponent's vital points with flawless accuracy, often in order to make a swift, silent kill, or disable without inflicting lethal wounds. Some of the knives he has lend themselves to throwing, in which case his aim can be expected to be nigh perfect, even in the middle of combat or when throwing multiple weapons. In addition, this may allow him to pin targets down through their opponent's clothing or flesh, preventing them from moving without actually killing them. The shortness of some knives offers a smaller blind spot than long swords, while at the same time allowing him to take advantage of such spots in the face of swordsmen.
He is also able to wield two different weapons with ease in combat. The weapons in question are normally bladed weaponry and/or firearms, but they can be virtually any melee and/or ranged weapon. Because of this, David is able to deal twice the damage to their opponent quickly, swiftly, and effectively. He's also able to hold his own against multiple enemies at multiple angles, allowing him to fight and take advantage of wide openings. However, due to possessing two weapons at the same time, he often bears poor defensive skills, so this ability requires speed, power, accuracy, and fast reaction time in order to maneuver through and counter enemies' attacks in order to make up for the lack of defense.

ARCHERY
» David is proficient with the ways of bow and arrow which allows him to launch multiple arrows with one shot, use the bow as a melee weapon, he can also reload the weapon rapidly and efficiently, even with heavy mechanisms like the crossbow. He possesses remarkable aim, precision, and dexterity. This allows him to fight a number of opponents simultaneously. This and his ability with bladed weapons enable him to perform the art of assassination better than the average killer, he is able to dispatch their victims without as much struggle. The ways he does this can range from something complex and high in finesse like mastery of stealth, strategically planned scenarios, and expertise in martial arts to something simple yet effective like strength and lightning speed to overwhelm his targets.

» Kind of a must-have for somebody born into and raised in a hunting family. Humans in comparison to supernaturals are definitely at a disadvantage so having ways to level the playing field is essential and the best way to do that? By creating fully customised weaponry as well as ammunition along with modifying already existing weapons.
