The Beginning
Title: The Beginning
Author's Notes: Unbeta’d spoiler fic based on the latest promo and future spoilers. No doubt it will all be proved wrong on Wednesday, but I had to write it anyway. How else does one fill the unbearably long wait between Luresdays? *pets shiny new obsession*

“Do you want me to pretend nothing happened between us? That’s not the way I work,” Reid said, tentatively cupping Luke’s cheek. “And we both know it isn’t true.”

Luke bit his lip but before he could formulate a response they heard a crash outside. Reid opened the door of the doctors’ lounge and found Noah passed out on the ground. “We need a gurney!” he shouted toward the nurses’ station, bending down to check Noah’s pulse. Moments later Noah was being wheeled away, a shocked Luke standing rooted to the spot.

“He’s fine,” was the first thing Reid said when he saw Luke later.

Luke let out a deep breath. “Thank god.”

“He was walking around and fainted. This is why I was so adamant about him needing to rest. Do you believe me now?”

“You were right.”

“My three favourite words,” Reid smirked, causing Luke to roll his eyes.

“Listen,” Luke began. “About yesterday. You were right – again – I need to make it clear to Noah that it’s over. I want to tell him that something’s going on between us.”

“Are you out of your mind?” Reid said. “If you tell Noah that something happened between us you’ll pretty much be guaranteeing that he’ll never see again.”

“What?” Luke was incredulous. “Why?”

“Noah just had brain surgery in case you’ve forgotten. His body needs to heal; he can’t be put under any stress right now.”

“But yesterday you wanted me to come clean, now you’re telling me you’ve changed your mind?” Luke’s voice rose a note.

Reid put a hand on Luke’s arm and led him out of the busy thoroughfare. “I haven’t changed my mind about us, Luke. But Noah’s clearly not strong enough to know about this - his fainting is proof of that. He couldn’t even walk down the hallway, how do you think he’ll cope if you tell him it’s over, once and for all?”

Luke closed his eyes, disappointed. He was finally ready to take the next step and now Reid was the one stalling.

“I get it,” Luke said, meeting Reid’s eyes. “But I don’t want to wait anymore,” he said, stepping into Reid’s space and kissing him.

Luke pulled back from the kiss, taking Reid’s hands in his own. “I don’t want to wait anymore, Reid,” he repeated.

Reid nodded. “Okay,” he said. “But we have to keep this quiet for now. Just until Noah’s stronger.”

“That’s going to be tough,” Luke frowned.

Reid squeezed Luke’s hands. “I know, but it’s for his own good, Luke. Just remember that and you’ll be fine.”

Luke took a fortifying breath and opened the door. “I’m going to check on him. Will I see you later?”

“You better,” Reid smiled.

“Count on it.”

“I’m totally fine,” Noah reassured Luke. “I just got a little light-headed and fainted. I probably shouldn’t have been out of bed but I wanted to find you and tell you what an amazing job you did on my movie,” Noah reached for Luke’s hand, squeezing it in thanks.

“I’m just glad you liked it,” Luke smiled weakly.

“Before I got woozy and passed out I saw you with Dr. Oliver in the lounge. Well, kind of saw,” Noah laughed. “What was going on with you two?”

“Nothing,” Luke shrugged. “We were just talking about what we need to do to get you back on your feet.”

“I’m so lucky to have you looking out for me, Luke” Noah squeezed his hand. “I know we still have a lot to talk about, but I know we can get through this.”

“You should rest,” Luke said, changing the topic. “I’ll see you later,” he said, leaving before Noah had a chance to object.

Luke rang the doorbell, smiling when Reid opened the door and hooked a finger in his belt loop, pulling him inside.

Reid closed the door then pushed Luke up against it, thoroughly kissing him hello.

“Hi,” Luke said breathlessly when Reid finally pulled away.

“Hi yourself,” Reid grinned.

“Let’s go to your bedroom,” Luke said.

Reid raised an eyebrow but was hardly about to object to a venue change involving a bed.

He led Luke to his room and closed the door behind them. The moment he turned around Luke was pressed up against him, kissing him and trying to tug Reid’s shirt off at the same time.

Reid pulled away from the kiss long enough to help Luke pull his shirt over his head then his mouth crashed against Luke’s again while his fingers busied themselves unbuttoning Luke’s shirt.

Luke’s hands were roaming all over Reid’s bare chest and back, stroking his skin, circling his nipples and generally driving him crazy. Luke’s shirt finally came off and Reid licked his lips at the sight of Luke’s chest, pushing him backwards onto his bed and kissing a trail from his neck down his chest, pausing to flick his tongue against each of Luke’s nipples and eliciting a deep moan from Luke which made Reid’s pulse race even faster. His cock was hard as a rock and he’d never wanted anyone in his life as much as he wanted Luke Snyder.

Luke yanked Reid up by his hair and kissed him again, unable to get enough of his mouth and his skin, greedy hands exploring the new territory. Their pants disappeared and Luke wasn’t entirely sure how but as their hard cocks rubbed against each other creating delicious friction he knew he didn’t really care.

“Fuck, that feels good,” Luke moaned and then Reid changed angle slightly and suddenly it felt even better.

“Oh god, don’t stop,” Luke panted.

“I’m not,” Reid replied breathlessly. He nipped at Luke’s lower lip then licked away the sting, seeking entrance to his mouth, kissing him while they continued to rub against each other. A minute later Luke tensed, his fingernails digging into Reid’s back and a wet warmth spread between their bodies as Luke came. Reid’s humping picked up speed, his cock working through the stickiness between them until he came a minute later.

He slumped against Luke’s chest, breathing harsh with his face pressed into Luke’s neck as Luke's fingers carded through Reid’s sweat-damp hair.

After a moment, Reid looked up at Luke, smiling at the content expression on Luke’s face.

Luke’s met his eyes, blushing slightly.

“You okay?” Reid asked, finding Luke’s bashfulness utterly charming, though he’d never admit it out loud.

Luke nodded and touched his lips to Reid’s in a gentle kiss. “Perfect.”
