I'm back, well I've been back, but I'm only just getting to this. Vegas was fine. Just like I thought, bright lights and kind of trashy. Thanks for the ticket, Dani.

Important Announcement:
  • First, new students, I'm Doug Ramsey. I'm the be all and end all of all technology around this place. If you have any issues computer issues only please, you can come by my office during the day, I'm usually in there. It's the one that looks like it's filled to the brim with junk, but it is not junk. Unless you have some out of control water based powers. In that case, I'm coming to you.

  • Secondly, now that student squads have been sussed out, I'm going to pose this question to all the students. Last semester John talked to the blue team about the sorts of danger room scenarios they'd enjoy having. The pirate one is still fairly new, but I'm taking suggestions for new ones. The Blue team's suggestions were the following: Star Wars (minus the trash compactor), Aliens, Buffy, some sort of war scenario. If you have any ideas let me know.

  • Also, just a reminder: downloading pirated material is illegal and against the rules. And I'm kind of offended that you guys are so bad at it.
Not very important announcements:
  • I'm extremely proud that it looks like no one touched my mini-fridge or drank my Redbull like they did the last time I was out of town.

  • However, my poptarts are gone. This is not good.

  • Also, if you do catch me with caffeine, you're allowed to question me on how much I've had. My new years resolution is to cut down on my caffeine intake, but not quit, since I'm fairly sure if I went cold turkey my heart might explode or something.
Random:
  • Because everyone wants to live in a lava tube on the moon.

  • In-laws really that scary?

  • Not news, but the south is scary, all present company excluded.

I decide this myself in your office. [Maybe someone is trying to send you a sign that you should be eating better in this new year, hmm?]

[Absolutely fascinating! Not only the practical use of lava for sustaining life--which of course is a point of interest for me. But people living in the heavens. Incredible!]

[One thing at a time, Amara. Besides I don't eat them all the time.]

[I don't think it will happen any time soon. NASA is interesting, but they come up with just as many ideas that will never happen as they do ones that will. I'm going to have to show you video about space exploration and the moon landings next time you're around.]

[Remind me to cook you a real meal sometime.] :P [That reminds me! I learned how to use the kitchen! Did you get the cookies I sent you?]

[You must show me all about this the next time we meet. It all sounds most fascinating--I learn the most interesting things from you, Doug!]

[I did! They were good, and I'm glad you're learning all that stuff. It's important.]

[It is really interesting. I'll have to find some good sources, and if I don't see you soon, I'll send them to Houston for you. Someone can show you how to work the DVD player.]
