I made it home just in time for the holidays looming around the corner! The expedition was a walk in the park (pun not intended..there really wasn't a park... it being a forest and all). The party consisted of me and two others, one being a very knowledgeable Herbologist. His name was David Thorne, and he was simply amazing. I've met many a Herbologist in my field of work, but he was honestly so nice and not as disconnected as others have come across. I was blown away by his knowledge of not only the plant we transported, a MageRoyal, which was for his own laboratory back in Scotland, but the range of his intellect regarding the intricate veins of various plant life.

He even lent me his personal copy of his book (He wrote a book) and said I could keep it. I don't know how I've not even heard of it. It was terribly embarrassing to admit. He was a welcoming joy to speak with, really down to earth (terrible pun aside) and he made me feel like more of a colleague of his than an assigned lab worker.

Any hoo, I'm terribly pleased to be home. I'm going to send an owl to mum that I'll be able to make the family gathering for the holidays. I can't wait to tell Daddy about the expeditions.

I'm glad to hear that you're back safe and sound and had an enjoyable time! So, this herbologist. It sounds as though you fancy him.

Thank you, Terry! I hope being stuck at the bank wasn't too terrible during the time before the holidays.

No, it wasn't too bad, actually! Most people took off rather early for their holiday, so there weren't many of us left. It was almost fun. Much more relaxed, anyway.

Well, that's good. Certainly you'll need a few relaxing moments before your big family holiday.

Yeah, the calm before the storm. A good storm, though!

Yes, hopefully you get that train set you've always wanted.

Ha! I'll leave some extra cookies out for Santa as a bribe.

Have you done something to waver yourself on his naughty list? Wouldn't be surprised, you hanging with Michael and all.

Perhaps. Not that I'm going to admit to anything.

Oh, of course not. That would water your chances down at that train.

Sounds brilliant, Mandy. You should invite him around for a dinner one day - I adore a person with enough knowledge on a subject to quill a book. Even if it is Herbology, Yeugh

Do you think he would come here? I mean, I'm not really sure about it. He said I could owl him any time, but an invitation to dinner is a bit much, don't you think?

No it isn't! It's for discussion and I'll be there too - maybe we should take him out for dinner though, I'm not sure. But, having him at the house would be good because you could show him some of your work.

Well, I'm sure he's busy and all doing work in his own lab but I can ask, maybe. It would be nice.
