Charlie Weasley is on fire ([info]_charlie_) wrote,

A public service announcement from Charles S. Weasley
My dearest siblings and friends,

I'm going to both games today.

At 11AM, a fierce match up! Katie Bell sinks the balls in Barry Ryan's holes (pardon the pun!), Oliver wood attempts to out-defend Ryan in a blazing display of manliness! Will Aidan Lynch's math skills be sharp enough to calculate the very best moment to catch the snitch??

Drinks and burgers in between games!

And THEN, 4PM! Chasers and Beaters tangle amongst the field! Meaghan McCormick uses her super powers to defend the rings faster than Cedric Diggory can catch the snitch! But will it be enough!? Will Pride have enough points to be proud about when Diggory wraps his creepily long fingers around that golden flying ball??

More drinks to follow!

Care do join me?

Cheers,
Charlie

I'd go every ten minutes. Would hate to see you get in a hurry and splinch yourself.

You could alternate ten minute periods with me, and we could update one another on the ten minutes of the opposite game when we cross paths.

I doubt I'm going to the matches. If I decide to go I'll be going to the afternoon match to watch the Arrows.

You should come. It is going to be a fun time. I promise.

I'll think about it.

Don't think, just do. Thinking is what gets people into trouble and depressed and all of that. Come, forget about all your troubles, and get wasted with me. You can ride my shoulders and cheer for Cedric not to fall off of his broomstick.

Forget my Quidditch troubles by watching Quidditch.

Fine, I'll go to the Arrows game. Cedric would be disappointed if I didn't come out and support him. Though I highly doubt I'll be riding on your shoulders.

Why not? It would be entertaining. We could compete with the mascots.

I'm sure Cedric would appreciate your support. Maybe you're his good luck charm.

Because I doubt it would be appropriate for a professional player to be riding around on the shoulders of a fan.

If I am his good luck charm that would surprise me. I can't even seem to bring luck to myself these days.

Ah! That's right, you ARE a pro player. Way cool, Chang, way cool. I've been out of the loop for so long, I barely get any news, let alone quidditch updates.

Cho
What's getting you so down?

Surely your family would have sent you the quidditch pages if you'd asked.

Charlie
Team politics.

I'm sure they would have, but I doubt I would have had a chance toread them before they either got lost or destroyed.

Cho
Oh? Anything you want to talk about? I know we don't know each other well, but I've been been in the same boat before.

Lost I can fathom. Destroyed? Were you planning on having the dragons read it with you?

Charlie
It's not a secret. The Tornadoes did a clean cut of everyone that started the reserve squad this past season. No on is guaranteed a return to the team. Which sucks because there's no one else I want to play for.

My dear Miss Chang, you've not had the pleasure of living with me. Dragons are not the only animals I keep, I assure you. Although the dragons alone have managed to burn down at least two of my residences in the past.

Cho
I apologize for not being privy to the news several thousand miles away from me. I'll make a point to keep up with the papers now that I'm here.

Sorry to hear about the team cuts. Politics always soured what is otherwise a very pleasant sport. I suppose that's true in any profession, really, but who am I to say? But if the team is what you want, I'm sure you won't have any trouble proving yourself to them when the time comes. Don't let them tell you what you can and cannot be. Just show them how magnificent you are.

Who says it would be a pleasure?

Charlie
No need to apologize. I'm sure you were plenty busy while abroad.

I plan on doing just that. Still, it is a bit disconcerting to have put forth all that effort and receive absolutely no recognition.
