Mother. Rosaline Macnair Father. Marcus Parkinson Other family. Hemera Macnair - maternal grandmother. Pansy had a fairly happy childhood, having been brought up in a well off pureblood family. However she was always more of a daddy's girl, winding him around her little finger to get what she wanted whenever her mother didn't approve. Her being sent off to Queen Maeve's at the age of 9 caused a rift between her and her mother that still carries on until present day. Rosaline Macnair felt Pansy should be tutored before attending Hogwarts because she was born late into the year and thus had to wait to attend until the year she'd be 12, instead of 11. |

House. Slytherin Current Year Level. 7th year Summer School. Transfigurations - Charms - Defence Against the Dark Arts - Ancient Runes - Divination Years. 1991-1998 Prefect. 1996-1997 N.E.W.T.s Transfiguration - Charms - Defence Against the Dark Arts - Ancient Runes - Divination O.W.L.s Transfigurations O - Charms O - Herbology A - Potions E - Defence Against the Dark Arts E - History of Magic A - Care for Magical Creatures A - Ancient Runes O - Divination E Clubs. Pansy was a member of Umbridge's Inquisitorial Squad during her fifth year. Instead of finishing her homework early, or studying her lesson for the following day, Pansy preferred to hang around with Slytherin friends, read a book or do something else entirely. However Pansy was the queen of procrastination, she always managed to scrape it together by the time class rolled around. Often enough that included sneaking into the common room after curfew, or finishing up between classes. Hermione Granger once described her as 'thicker than a concussed troll', but Pansy's actually far from stupid. Granted, she's not Granger, but who is? She's actually quite intelligent if she would learn to use that brain of hers instead of parroting the principles that seem to have been ingrained since birth. At least that is about to change. |
||||
Pansy always relied on the fact that she would probably be married not long after she left school and would never actually have to earn a living. Foolish dreams, of course. Basically she has no idea what she wants to do, or what she's capable of doing. Yes, her grades are more than decent and she has a few talents, but at this point, Pansy is not really interested in doing anything. She will hate the idea of Summer School, but will hold out until she takes her N.E.W.T.s. After that, the world is pretty much open. |

5 words that describe your character. Likes. Playing the piano, having a good time with friends, reading, solitude, Draco. Dislikes. Being cornered, being wrong, crying, Draco. |

Secrets. Pansy plays the piano, how scandalous! Pansy wanted to be like her father, a Death Eater, and was quite willing to enter Voldemort's ranks just to please him. However Marcus saw her intention for what it was and kept her away from the Death Eaters instead. Gossip. I suspect Pansy's foolishness before the Battle may be mentioned when the trials begin, including that of her father. Anything other regarding her previous affiliation with Draco (TBD by Draco's player of course!) or other things concerning her family are up for grabs. Drag her through the mud. I bet there'll be plenty of that around! |

Pansy was brought up in a well off pureblood family and had a fairly happy childhood. As an only child, she was pampered and used to getting what she wanted, but that changed when she was sent to Queen Meave's at the age of 9. She never fit in quite well as she was a slow reader and a dreamy child who would rather look out the window than pay any attention at all. Needless to say, her interest in classes had almost been reduced to none when she boarded the train to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to start her first year. However she never failed of her classes, she barely took the effort to study. From her personal start at Hogwarts, she fit right into the Slytherin house atmosphere while developing affection for Draco Malfoy over the following years. Looking back, she thought it was foolish, but nothing can change the past. At Hogwarts, she took great interest in subjects like Ancient Runes and Divination while classes like History of Magic and Astronomy were completely lost on her. When her O.W.L. year rolled around, Pansy became part of Umbridge's Inquisitorial Squad and however she revelled in her new power, she was more anxious about her O.W.L.s than anything else. By the time the exams started, she was exhausted from doing her studying mostly in the evening and late at night. She received decent grades, with a few Outstandings even, but nothing she would ever admit to her housemates. During her last three years at Hogwarts, she strongly believed in Voldemort's ideals, which fit the mental picture she had been fed since childhood. She never went as far as joining the Death Eaters, but the thought had crossed her mind more than once. Instead, she supported from the sidelines, denouncing all logic as she did. Pansy didn't fight in the final battle, but was led out of the Great Hall when the Death Eaters were standing at the gates. She is unsure of what is next. Her father is awaiting trial, her mother is at home, trying her hand at damage control while she still can. Pansy realises her running mouth is likely to come back and bite her in the arse, but there's nothing she can do about it now. She has to face the consequences, maybe keep quiet for a while. Who knows what happens when she has to face the outside world again? |

First Person Journal Entry. It's over. It's only starting now. It's never really over, is it? Third Person Narrative. It's over. Voldemort and his followers have been defeated. At least, that's what the teacher said who came to fetch the students who left the Great Hall before the battle began. After she opened that stupid mouth of hers. Pansy watched the students being led away, but she stayed behind, wandering over to the window instead. Down below, she could see the others. Aurors, teachers, students... Holding each other up, laughing, crying, limping... She could see the corpses, surrounded by family members, friends or boths. She felt nothing at that. Shouldn't she at least feel something? Shouldn't she be disappointed that Voldemort did not triumph over all Muggle-loving fools? Her fingers begin to turn cold from where they are pressed against the stones. Numbness is all that she felt as she watched the scene below. It didn't seem real, like being in a dream. She never thought it would come this far. Too late. It's done now. The war is over, but yet for her, it's about to start. All that she knew is going to be torn apart. And yet, she feels nothing. The Death Eaters that survived are being led away, their masks removed, their heads down. She can't make out their faces from her spot by the window, but her heart is chilled nonetheless. There is one man amongst them whose posture is eerily familiar. The short dark hair, the slump of his shoulders... As she wonders, he lifts his head as he looks up - up to the window where she is watching. Recognition is immediate in those hazel eyes and Pansy feels tears well up in her own. She hasn't cried for a long time, but she does so now. Not because the purebloods lost their cause, but like a daughter who cries for her father who is being taken away; and who's likely never to come home again. Too late now. All's been done. Reality is here. And Pansy's at its mercy. |

I would love to explore what happened during that last year with Pansy and Draco. How they drifted apart, how the end of this war affects them now... J.K. made them not meant to be because Pansy's the epitome of all the mean girls that she hated, I think I should at least try to give her some closure with Draco. Talking about mean girls... Pansy is definitely not going to be popular. Not that she was well-liked before, but she just had to open that stupid mouth of hers... Mhm. I think there could be lots of harsh words, a few physical fights. For all I care, you can corner her and give her the beating of her life. We can work that out, I'm sure! Pansy's father was captured during the Battle of Hogwarts and is awaiting trial. Since she was more of a daddy's girl, this will definitely affect her. I have a few ideas here that I would have to talk to the mods about... I would love to throw her troubled relationship with her mother into play as well. I'd love to see her family fall apart, bring down that high and mighty pride of hers. After all, she's just a 17-year old girl as well. Apart from all the misery, I'd love for her to have at least one friend she can talk to. Not even Pansy should be truly alone in this post-war mess. She'll spend a lot of time on her own, reflecting and trying to figure out what's next for her. Realisation is dawning, and it's coming down hard. |
