Name: Devyn Tú Fairfax Age/DoB: 33/October 1st, 1980 PB: Olivia Munn Position: Associate Professor of Physical Education and Associate Trainer for the FCU Athletics Department Qualifications: Master of Arts in Kinesiology with a Physical Education emphasis Activities: Sponsor - Boxing Club, Coach - Women's Soccer and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Owns: None yet Appearance: Devyn takes after her father in size, coming in at only 5'4" tall. She's thin, but very toned and muscular, weighing a lot more than she looks like she should and possessing a strength that no girl her size should possess. Devyn has dark brown, almost black, hair and beautiful, almond-shaped brown eyes. She tans easily, but never loses her freckles in doing so. Personality: Devyn is and always has been the kind of person who knows what she wants and doesn't hesitate to go for it. This has served her well in the past, though it has gotten her into hot water a time or two. She's always been a rather blunt and straight forward person. In spite of the fact that she's been hurt deeply in the past, she has managed to retain that part of herself and still isn't afraid to put herself, her thoughts and her feelings out there for mass consumption. She can out drink most men twice her size, plays a mean game of pool and darts, and isn't afraid to get down and dirty. But when she wants to, she can turn on the charm and become one of the sexiest women a man could ever be fortunate enough to meet, and she knows it. History: Devyn Tú Nguyễn was born and raised in Modesto, California. Her mother was a mixture of Irish, Native American and English and her father was half Vietnamese and half white. It was their odd mix that made for a daughter with strikingly unique physical features and the way in which they raised her that made for a girl who was incredibly driven and knew exactly what she wanted for as long as she could possibly remember. In high school, Devyn was a soccer star and she set record after record in her division of track and field which earned her numerous scholarship offers for colleges all across the country, graduating from high school with honors at the age of sixteen. But her desire to stay close to home led her to choose Fresno Pacific University where she earned her BA in Kinesiology with an emphasis on Physical Education Teaching and a minor in Coaching. Although Devyn wanted to teach after graduating from college, finding a position doing so in California wasn't easy. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Venice Beach with a couple of her friends. She was twenty years old at the time. Within weeks, she had found a job as a corporate trainer, working with the employees at a rather large law firm to keep them in peak physical condition thereby saving the company money on medical expenses. It was there that she met the man she would soon marry. JD Fairfax was relatively new to the firm when they met and instantly hit it off. There was an undeniable chemistry from the very first time they laid eyes on one another in spite of the fact that he was several years older than her at the time. Devyn had never dated an older man, but she found his age to be quite a turn on as he had a sort of confidence that men her age typically lacked. After dating for a few short months, they were married. Although that wasn't a part of Devyn's life plan, and she was barely old enough to drink at the time, she couldn't have been happier. It was within a year of being married that Devyn and JD met a man to whom they both were almost immediately attracted. Eventually they made him a part of their relationship. Though they couldn't do it in the legal sense, he became like a husband to the both of them. In spite of how non-traditional the arrangement was, they were all pretty content with it, at least in the beginning. Eventually, during the course of being married, Devyn decided to go back to college and earn her Masters degree. She enrolled in an online program through Fresno Pacific University and earned her Master of Arts in Kinesiology with a Physical Education emphasis. Although she had a great job as a corporate trainer, her dream of being a teacher and a coach persisted, and shortly after earning her Masters degree, she took a job teaching at a local high school. It was shortly after that that things started to go downhill in their marriage. In spite of how much they all cared for one another, there were unique difficulties to deal with when dealing with a plural marriage, jealousy being a huge factor. And yet, it was less the fault of the ones in the relationship than it was the fault of outside forces, namely JD's best friend since childhood, Daniel McGaven. With his job, JD spent a lot of time traveling, but when he was home, it seemed that he spent all of his free time with Daniel and his children instead of paying attention to his wife and husband waiting for him at home. As things became increasingly strained, JD did what Devyn had found he did best; He ran away from their problems. When he took a position as a guest lecturer at his old alma mater, it was kind of the straw that broke the camel's back. Devyn moved out while he was gone, left her job at the firm for which he still worked, and served him with divorce papers not too long after that. She didn't ask for anything other than to keep his last name and she had no idea what happened with the other man in their life as she felt it for the best to cut ties with them both completely. After her divorce, things really started to take off for Devyn. She moved to Las Vegas where she got a job working with the athletic department at UNLV. It was while she was living in Vegas that she got involved with the world of MMA. She had always been an athletic girl, had always enjoyed getting down and dirty and sweaty, so getting in a ring with another woman and beating the crap out of her definitely met with her idea of fun. It was a great outlet too, allowing her to take out a lot of the anger and hurt that she felt about her failed marriage in a somewhat safe and constructive way. But Vegas wasn't called Sin City for no reason. Devyn got herself mixed up with some serious trouble in Las Vegas and it was that trouble that led her to decide that she needed to remove herself from the city, find a job elsewhere, and start again. It was that decision that led Devyn to a place she had never given much consideration before, her ex-husband's alma mater, Falls Church University. They had an opening in their physical education department as well as a need for a coach for both women's soccer and track & field. It was her dream job, too good to turn down, and she packed up everything she owned and moved across the country to Virginia to take the job. Of course, had she known that JD was a professor there, she would have thought twice about that. Being around him again brought back a lot of buried emotions that she would have much rather forgotten all about. But Devyn barely had time to think much about any of that before tragedy struck at home. Her mother called her to inform her that her father had been diagnosed with advanced stage Alzheimer's disease. Devyn took a leave of absence to go back home and help her mother look after her father. It wasn't until after she had gone back to California that she found out that she was pregnant as the result of a drunken one-night stand. Now six months pregnant, her father has passed away and she's ready to return to her position at FCU. |
